Upon request of the Southold Town Building Department,
I made inspection of this one story framed dwelling and
found the following violations of Local Law #1, Housing
Code, Town of Southold. I picked up key from Kathryn Fleet
at her home and began inspection by letting myself in to
kitchen at approximately 11:25 a.m.
Kitchen: Gas range, no shutoff valve at unit - Section
3~$~
Bathroom: Hot water heater (gas), no shutoff valve at
uniT Section 508b. Fleor, no moisture resistant
covering - Section 214d, 303d.
There is one bedroom and a living room. Building has
foundation with crawl space. There is no heating equipment;
occupancy between the first day of November and first of
May not permitted - Section 513a.
I completed inspection at approximately 11:45 a.m. and
returned key to Miss Fleet.

Kathryn Fleet, being duly sworn, deposes and says: that she
resides at Cutchogue, New York, and is the owner in fee simple of
the premises shown on the annexed survey for Harrie+ Spilman,
made by Roderick Van Tuyl, P.C., dated January 29, 1973, showing
premises on the west side of West Creek Avenue, at Cutchogue,
New York; I acquired the premises in question by deed dated
March 26, 1956 from John Stewart Dawson and Betty Barteau Dawson,
recorded in Suffolk County Clerkis office May 18, 1956 in Liber
4111} of Deeds, at Page 526. At that time the cottage shown on the
survey was in existence and no change in the exterior lines thereof
has been made since March of 1956. T was not then the owner of
premises to the north or south of this propertg excepting that
I was then and still am a part owner of the lands lying to the
south thereof.
I make this affidavit for the purpose of obtaining a certificate
of pre-existing use covering said premises so that the purchasers
thereof from me now will have evidence of their right to occupy
the same as a one family dwelling.
