HOUSING CODE INSPECTION

Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certifi-
cate of Occupancy, I made an inspection of the buildings on
this property. I was admitted to dwelling by Mrs. Evans who
accompanied me on inspection of main house and caretakers
dwelling. Inspection began at approximately 10:50 A.M.
Main dwelling is a one and one-half story wood framed
building constructed on a cement block foundation. First floor
contains a porch entry to kitchen, butlers pantry, dining room,
living room with fireplace, one bedroom with private bathroom,
two bedrooms with a connecting full bathroom, and sun porch on
southerly side of building. Second floor has a master bedroom
with private bath and walk-in closet on southerly end with a
hallway that provides access to three bedrooms and a full bath-
room on northerly end of second floor. There are two stairways
serving vertical travel between first and second floors. Heat
is furnished to all rooms on first floor except sun porch and
all rooms on second floor except northwest bedroom from an oil
fired steam heat furnace located in full cellar.
Caretakers living quarters is a two-story wood framed
dwelling constructed on a cement block and poured concrete
foundation. Top floor living unit contains a sitting room,
dining room, two bedrooms with connecting bathroom and kitchen.
A two-car garage is within building on ground floor, also toilet
room and storage facilities. Heat is furnished to all rooms on
second floor from an oil fired steam heat furnace located in
partial cellar. Accessory buildings consist of a cabana on beach
on bay side and a boat storage building on pond side of property.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Code of the Town of Southold, New York, were found:

A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal-($-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings oral unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00
2. Certificate of occupancy on pre-existing dwelling or land use $5.00
3. Copy of certificate of occupancy $1.00
