address the Town Board relating to agenda resolutions prior to their enactment; the public will
also be given time at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled business agenda to address the
Board on any given topic.

V. RESOLUTIONS
Special Note: At the start of the Town Board Meeting the Supervisor will invite the public to
speak on the following resolutions.
256. Appoint individuals to the position of Traffic Control Officers for the 2002 season.
257. Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to sign the 2002 Community Block Grant
Agreements with Suffolk County.
258. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 2002 budget for insurance
deductibles and co-insurance.
259. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 2002 budge to appropriate gifts
and donations money.
260. Authorize modification to the Police Department 2002 budget to appropriate donated
money to purchase a trailer and safety seats for the Child Passenger Safety Program.
261 Transfer Clerk-typist Martha Jones from the Human Services Department to the Assessors
Office.
262. Authorize modification to the General Fund Whole Town 2002 budget to appropriate gifts
and donations money.
263. Authorize modification to the Police Department 2002 budget to appropriate donated
money for traffic safety.
264. Authorize modification to the Solid Waste District 2002 budget for glass removal.

Approve Home Rule Request to enact Senate Bill S.7146, Assembly Bill A. 11080 to amend
Chapter 252 of the laws of 1990 relating to the appointment of town officers in order to
appoint four additional constables for the benefit of Fishers Island, who shall possess all the
powers and duties of constables in civil and criminal actions.
266. Declare a 1988 Chevrolet, V1N 1G1BL5167JA161028, as surplus and valueless and
authorize that the vehicle be disposed of as junk.
267. Appoint James M. O'Keefe to the position of part-time mini-bus driver for the Human
Resource Center.
268. Appoint Thomas Ryan and Gerard H. Schultheis to the Board of Assessment Review,
effective April 22, 2002.

Grant permission to Police Chief Carlisle Cochran to attend the NYS Association of Chiefs
of Police 2002 Annual Training Conference August 4-8, 2002 in West Point.
Authorize Town Comptroller John Cushman to attend the satellite teleconference "A Pre-
Retirement Seminar - An Employer Perspective" on May 21, 2002 in Riverhead.
Accept the resignation of Webster P. McNeil from his position as part-time Custodian for
the Human Resource Center.
Rescind resolution #201 of 2002 adopted at the March 12th meeting which authorized the
purchase of a New Holland 2120 Compact Utility Tractor.
Authorize modification to the Community Preservation Fund 2002 budget to appropriate
funds for land preservation taxes.
Designate the Mary and Diana Zanganas house (Moses Cleveland House) as a Southold
Town Landmark at the recommendation of the Landmark Preservation Commission.
Authorize modification to the Solid Waste District 2002 budget for trailer rental.
Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to execute all necessary documents to apply for a
"dewatering permit" for the Brushes Creek Bridge Project.
Authorize and direct Supervisor Horton to execute an agreement with Suffolk County for
the purpose of improving and maintaining active parkland on the parcel known as
"Strawberry Fields".
Engage the services of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck, & Co., PC, to perform a review of food
purchases made from a specific vendor.
Codify and reconfirm existing Town Board resolutions and practices that, effective
immediately, the Town will provide continued health insurance coverage into and during an
employee's retirement from the Town.
Repeal, rescind and revoke the bond resolution adopted by the Town Board on October 9,
2001 authorizing the acquisition of certain land and the building thereon at the estimated
cost of $600,000.
Approve and welcome the formation of a not-for-profit (The Town of Southold - Raynor
Shelter Foundation) for the sole purpose of raising funds for the Town's new animal shelter
and authorizes and directs Supervisor Horton to execute the Memorandum of
Understanding with the incorporators of the Foundation.

Appoint Dorothy Chituk to the position of interim Receiver of Taxes.
Approve the reduction in the amount of the performance bond for roads, drainage, and
other improvements for Peconic Landing in Greenport.
Set 10:00 a.m., June 18, 2002, Southold Town Hall, as the time and place for a hearing for
the appeal of a decision of the Southold Town Trustees' denial of the Padovan application.
Authorize notification to the State of New York Licensing Services Division of Alcoholic
Beverage Control Board that the Town Board is neither endorsing nor opposing the
application of the Orient Coffee Company until acted upon by the Planning Board.
Accept the resignation of Mary C. Wilson from the position of Assistant Town Attorney.
Grant permission to the Nature Conservancy for their staffto park at town beaches while
monitoring the piping plover nesting.
Authorize modification of General Fund Whole Town 2002 budget to appropriate the New
York State Department of State Grant for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center study.
