Board. of ~ippeals June 12, 195~- A regular meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals was held. at 8 P.M. on Thursday, June 12, 195~, in the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, N. Y. There were present: Messrs. R. W. Gillispie, Jr.; Chairman, Robert Bergen and Herbert Rosenberg. Absent: Mr. Charles Grigonis, Jr. and Mr. Serge Doyen, Jr. Also present: ~. Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector. PUBLIC P~ING: Appeal No. 66 - Application of Felice J. Rossi of Depot Lane, Cutchogue, New York, for a special exception to the Zoning Ordinance for permission to erect a sign to replace the present one at the intersection of Depot Lane and Route 25, Cutehogue, N. Y. Chairman opened the hearing by reading application for appeal, letter to Mr. Rossi advising of date of public hearing, legal notice of hearing with affidavit attesting to publication and letter from Mr. J. Henry Wolf, owner of property, granting permission to Mr. Rossi to replace the present sign on his property. Chairman: Is there anyone present who wishes to speak for this application? Mr. & M~s. Rossi explained that the present sign was much too small to be used for the directional arrow which they intended to erect at this i~tersection and they also advised that the new sign w~uld be comparable to the directional arrow which is located on Route 27A. Chairman then asked if there were anyone present who wished to speak against the application. There was no response. The Board then agreed unanimously to ~rant the appeal to erect a 12 foot horizontal sign by 5 feet in height at the intersection of Depot Lane and Route 25. Sign to be the same as the directional sign applied for under Appeal No. 61, dated May 10, 1958. Mr. Thomas Dwyer of the Welcome Inn, Mattituck, New York, appeared before Southold Town Board of Appeals June 12, 1958 MINUTES, Continued before the Board for an ~n*ormal discussion regarding a sign neighboring his property and which he stated almost completely blocks his restaurant from view of motorists passing eastward. The Chairman dictated a letter which is to be sent to the Planning Board recommending the following change in the Building Zone Ordinance under ARTICLE X - General Provisions - Section 1012 - Penalties~ in order to conform to a State law effective July 1, 1958, amending paragraphs 135 and 268 of the Town Law. The Board recommended in their letter to the Planning Board that the word "misdemeanor" be changed to "offense". Mi~utes of the Ju~e 5th meeting were read. On motion duly made by ~r. Bergen, seconded by Mr. Rosenberg, and carried, Minutes were approved as submitted. A tentative date of June 26th has been set for the next meeting of the Board. Time - 7:30 P.M.
