When I bought property in Southold Shores in 1972 there was a bulkhead on the canal that Mr. Reese had created. In 1994 1 contracted with Costello Marine to do extensive maintenance on one half of the bulkhead and in 1998 Greenport Dock did similar work on the other half. Since that time several of the original piles have deteriorated considerably below the water line and I believe that it would be wise to add new piles adjacent to them. Costello has contracted with adjacent lot owners,MY&Mrs. Maino,to replace their bulkhead and I thought that I might be able to have him install several piles for me while he was working nearby. Would it be possible to obtain a letter from the Town stating that this is maintenance work and a permit is not required?
