Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-existing Certificate
of Occupancy, I made an inspection of the buildings on these
premises. This inspection started at approximately 3:20 P.M.
The main building, consisting of office space and a resi-
dence, is a one-and-one-half story, wood-framed structure with
the kitchen for the livable area being on the first floor parti-
tioned from the set of rooms used for office space. I made the
inspection of the residence portion of the building first ac-
companied by Nicole D'Emo.
The portion of the first floor that's used for office space
consists of four rooms and a full bathroom. One room on the south-
~ corner of the building is used for storage and also contains
a bar-type sink. The second floor, which is accessible from a
hallway off the kitchen part of the first floor, contains a bed-
room, living room, and a full bathroom. Heat is furnished to all
rooms, first and second floors, from and oil-fired, hot water
furnace located in the cellar of the building's poured
foundation. In the rear yard, there are two accessory structures.
One is a framed structure with a stucco finish and is used as an
upholstry shop. This building has a lean-to section that is used
as a one-stall stable for the owners horse which is kept on the
premises. Behind this building there is a small framed structure
which has metal siding.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, were found:
Second floor bathroom - no moisture resitant floor covering,
Article II, Section 52-26 A (4).
Cellar - Oil fuel line for furnace is lying on cellar floor
~ unprotected, Article V, Section 52-50 A. Two open
electric boxes attached to the first floor joists and an
electric outlet fastened to the girder do not have plates,
Article V, Section 52-56 A (1). Open pit containing an
electric waterpump in cellar floor with ladder requires
railing or covering as a protection for the open pit,
Article II, Section 52-27 B.

Exterior - chimney for the furnace, section of the cap
top is broken off and missing, and top course of bricks and
mortar have open joints, Article V, Section 52-54 A (1).
Small accessory structure - in rear yard area, openings in
the roof,~ rafters and roofing are rotted away; door is
missing from the doorway and there is no sash in the window,
Article III, Section 52-31 B C and Section 52-30 C.
Other structures in the open yard area are a fenced corral
which is attached to the stable portion of the larger accessory
building.
Inspection completed at approximately 4:00 P.M.

Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey.of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and conditia~ of buildings.
3'. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
