Upon receipt of au application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings at the above
captioned premises. I picked up the key for dwelling from the
adjacent neighbor Mrs. Spicer and began this inspection at approximately
2:50P.M.
The dwelling is a one and one half story wood frame structure
constructed on a cement bleck foundation. The first floor contains
a rear entry vestibule, kitchen with dining area, living room and
bedroom, ma~ a full bathroom and a laundry room. Second floor is a
finished attic which provides sleeping area and closet for clothes
storage. Heat is furnished to building from an oil fired hot water
furnace located in the cellar. Domestic hotwater is furnished to all
plumbing fixtures within dwelling. An accessory one car wood framed
garage constructed on a concrete slab is located in side yard area.
This building was padlocked and the keys were not available for inspect-
ion of interior.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Code
of the Town of Southold were found:
Shut off valve - cookin$ range - no shut off valve provided.
Article V, Section 52-52 B 2.
Piping for fuel gas - a flexible plastic type piping was used
to connect gas cooking range to the supply pipe of rigid metal
located at the floor level. Article V, Section 52-52 A 1.
Entry 7~ont entry to living room - no means of controlling
lightmat ~%~nt of entry. Article V, Section 52-56 B 2.
Exterior protection - Accessory structure - building built
close to the grade,siding of structure is subject to moisture
conditions and is deteriorating. Article III, Section 52-31B.
Finished attic on second floor does not provide sufficient.head
room as required under Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 100, Article I,
Section 100-13 (FlOor area liveable).
Inspection completed at approximately 3:10 P.M. The
key was returned to Mrs. Spicer.

APPLIGATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF O~¢UPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, industrial buildings, N~ultiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
