Upon request of Patricia J. Combs for a Pre-Existing
Certificate of Occupancy, I made an inspection of buildings
on this property. I was admitted to dwelling by Mrs. Combs'
daughter and began this inspection at approximately 10:40 A.M.
The dwelling is a two-story wood framed building con-
structed on a red brick masonry foundation. The first floor
contains a. kitchen, toilet room with trap door in floor as
secondary access to cellar, laundry room, pantry room, two
section living room, den and front entry hallway. Second floor
has six bedrooms, two full bathrooms and hallway at west and
east end of second floor containing stiarways to first floor.
Heat is furnished to all rooms from an oil fired hot water fur-
nace located in partial cellar. An attached storage shed is
located on rear of dwelling. Accessory structures located in
the rear yard area are two wood framed buildings. The smaller
building at north side is used for storage, the larger structure
contains a work shop. The building was locked and inspection of
interior could not be made.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Code of the Town of Southold, New York, were found:
Entry - south side, no means of controlling light in room
at point of entry, Article V, Section 52-56 B 2.
Toilet room - inside room, no mechanical ventilation,
Article II, Section 52-56 B 4(b).
Window - north end of living room on west wall, glass
pane broken, Article III, Section 52-31 B.
~ - waste line discharges into open yard area,
Article V, Section 52-51 C 1, 2.
Sewage system - fresh air vent requires perferated plate
cover, Article V, Section 52-51 C 8.
Sidin~ - bottom of siding rotting an~ window trim deteriorating
on storage section attached to rear of building, Article III,
Section 52-30 C & Section 52-31 B.
