SOUTHOLD TOWN ANTI-BIAS FORCE/ MAY 15, 2015 MINUTES
PRESENT: Valerie Shelby, Loretta Geraci, Leroy Heyliger, Carolyn Peabody, Linda
Ruland, Sonia Spar and Louise Hug
Motion to approve minutes by Loretta Geraci and seconded by Linda Ruland
SCHOOLS:
Greenport - Cindy and Sonia attended school board meeting. Spoke with Mr.
Gamberg about activities offered by ABTF. He will speak to the new principal.
Southold - No report
Mattituck Cutchogue- No report
POLICE: No report
Southampton ABTF held a community meeting with the Police Department on May
14, 2015. It was suggested that this topic be brought up to the Southold
Police Department.
COMMITTEE TO HONOR A COMMUNITY MEMBER: Carolyn has submitted
proclamation. It was accepted and delivered to Supervisor Russell. Waiting for a
response.
NEW BUSINESS: Discussion of coordinating Town Board meeting with a
community event for October 2015.
Picnic Committee (Sonia, Jean and Ellie) will meet with previous contacts.

Louise Wilkinson from the Riverhead ABTF will speak at the June 15, 2015 meeting
about the Ambassor program.
Leroy showed a draft of the Community Service letter.
Discussed the possibility of bus transportation to the picnic. Hampton Jittery, school
buses or church vans were suggested.
Carolyn suggested forming a subcommittee or advisory group of local churches to
advise the ABTF on the picnic. Carolyn, Loretta and Linda will invite religious
leaders to attend June 15th meeting.
A copy of the film "Documented" has been obtained. Carolyn's students have
offered to organize a community screening and discussion. Location suggested
was Southold High School and the tentative date was the week of November 9th.
There was a motion to adjourn made by Carolyn and seconded by LeRoy at 11 :40.
All in favor.
The next meeting will be June 15, 2015.
