Housing:
With Rona Smith, Chair, Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) developed
agenda for HAC meeting.
Transcribed and disseminated minutes.
Began planning of public forum on affordable housing scheduled for October

22 at 6 p.m. Will have it taped for Channel 22 per Supervisor.
Meeting with four applicants for affordable housing, first-time homebuyers
counseling, etc.
Submitted additional reminder to residents of Cottages for compliance with
affordable housing policies and procedures—two have not responded with
compliance certificate--forwarded to Town Attorney for legal action.
One application received, amended registry.
Youth Bureau
Facilitated Youth Bureau board meeting that included discussion with David
Gamberg regarding proposed pilot afterschool program—proposed date of
implementation September 2016.
Facilitated Youth Advisory Council meeting with Youth Bureau volunteer Bob
Duffin. Students elected that they would like to take a trip (possibly NYC)
within the school year—will have them meet with Youth Bureau board.
Meeting with Gerry Vasquez, North Fork Alliance, regarding possible
partnership for afterschool program.
Finalized SC Youth Bureau and Juvenile Aid Bureau applications.
Attended SC Youth Board Coordinating Council meeting.
Comprehensive Plan:
No report.
Economic Development:
Facilitated Economic Development Committee meeting with Karen Karp
providing presentation regarding promotion of local food industries-- agenda
preparation and disseminated minutes.
Two subcommittee meetings with North Fork Promotion Council to celebrate
“Southold Then and Now” for American Express Small Business Saturday.
Discussion with Herb Adler to enlist 375 Anniversary Committee support of
small business Saturday event.
Assisted with facilitation of meeting with local businesses to discuss small
business Saturday event-- approximately one dozen businesses attended.
Discussion with Pat Snyder for revised concept of art gallery at Peconic Lane
Community Center.
Community Development:
With assistance of Town Engineer, prepared grant to Senator LaValle’s office
for additional $50,000 funding for improvements to Fishers Island Theatre
(steel lintels.)
Prepared administrative summary report and voucher for administrative billing
for 2015 CDBG block grant funds.
Prepared legal notice advertisement for availability of 2016 CDBG funding
and solicitation of projects.
Prepared resolution for Town Clerk to advertise notice.
Notified previous recipients of CDBG funding of public hearing.
Set public hearing for October 20, 2015, notified Town Board.
Other:
Submitted article of “News from Southold Town” for Fishers Island Fog Horn.
Several meetings with Valerie Shelby and Sonia Spar regarding assistance
with Anti-Bias Task Force planning of Helen Prince recognition (developed
press release, program, etc.
Finalized account with Survey Monkey to collect information regarding how
residents want to be informed.
Developed Community Notices advertisement for the Suffolk Times.
