Mattituck Park Districtt held on January 15, 2003, at the Paark District office on Main
Road,Mattituck,New York,with Commissioners Gerard Goehringer, Walter Sabat, and
Jerome Zuhoski all present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer,Madeline Haas,
Secretary, Gail Faircloth, Gate Guard Attendant, Jim Cox, Sr., Crew Chief Leader and
Abigail Wickham, Park District attorney.
Also present Chris Kelly and Lynn Summer, interested taxpayers who wanted
information regarding Wolf Pit Lake. Ms. Wickham discussed the Wolf Pit Lake
situation with Mr. Fitzgerald, adjoining owner to Park Property at the Lake site, who
wants to put a fence up on his property line on the west side of the lake A discussion
followed regarding this problem regarding the youth of the District who sleigh ride there.
The fence would prohibit them from doing so. Ms. Wickham was asked to either write to
or call Mr. Fitzgerald to see if some arrangement could be made to avoid the situation.
Seqra determination from the Town Trustees on the Veterans' construction site.
We did Seqra on the bond application..
Suffolk County Department of Health notice received asking for various things
regarding the construction site at Veterans' Park.
Jerome Zuhoski was welcomed to his first meeting as a new commissioner
replacing Chris Talbot who did not run for office in November.
At this time on motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Jerry Zuhoski and carried,
Gerard Goehringer was named Chairman of the Board for the year 2003.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,
Madeline Haas was appointed Secretary of the Board for the year 2003.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, the firm
of Wickham, Wickham & Bressler was appointed legal counsel for the Board for 2003.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,North
Fork Bank and MBIA/CLASS were appointed banking institutions of the Distract for
2003.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried, Suffolk
Times newspaper was appointed legal publication of the Board for 2003.
On motion of Walter Sabat, seconded by Gerard Goehringer, the minutes of the
November meeting were approved as presented. Because the secretary was not present
at the December meeting,the minutes for said meeting were not complete and will be
presented at the February meeting.

Commissioners want to procure a Building Permit and start building as soon as
the Town Trustees give us a Certificate of Non-Jurisdiction.
Wolf Pit Lake: On the west side of the Lake the Commissioners would like to request
approximately one-half of the area from Mr. Fitzgerald's existing monuments and his
post fence. Mr. Goehringer to go and check on the tree line at the lake.
Jim Cox to have information for the Commissioners by the March meeting as to
what labor workers he will need.
Jim Cox reported on all the things that has to be done at the Lodge at the Bailey
Beach site
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried Mr.
Fischetti is to be called to be asked if he would be able to look at the Lodge, the building,
to see what would have to be done to fix the roof that is leaking and ask him if his figure
for his time to do this could be kept at no more than$500.00..
Jim Cox said that Tim Monahan would like to work at the Lodge on weekends.
He is working for the Park District on community service.
Gerard Goehringer made the following suggestions for each of the
Commissioners: Jerome Zuhoski— Scouters Lodge, Love lane and Wolf Pit
Gerard Goehringer—Baileys Beach,Breakwater and Veterans' Park
Walter Sabat—Aldrich Lane, Softball field on the Boulevard and
Little League field on Bay Avenue
Gerard Goehringer said that Kim Prokopf has had shoulder surgery and is still
recuperating.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Walter Sabat and carried the
following resolution was made:
RESOLVED that the following modifications be made to the 2002 budget:

On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried,
$30,000.00 is to be taken ouf the of Operating Fund and transferred to the Veterans'
Park Building Capital Fund.
John Cushman that the insurance renewal for 2003 is with NYMIR with Roy
Reeve Agency.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Gerard Goehringer,
seconded by Walter Sabat and carried,the meeting was adjourned.
The Commissioners and John Cushman then met in Executive session.
