Mr. Goehringer reported having had a complaint that there were people in the
Park after hours and making noise. The police were called to Veteran's Park regarding
same. Police came and the complaint was unfounded.
Gail Faircloth agreed to close the gates at Veteran's Park each night at 9:00 P.M.
A complaint from a neighbor on the west side the Veteran's Park about the fence
along the Marlene walkway. Mr. Goehringers suggested erecting a chain line fence in
that area.
Commissioners reported they had hired Ginny McCaffery as a laborer for$7.50
per hour commencing August 11,2003 until school opens in September. She is a school
bus driver.
Jim Cox left a list of items that needed attention. He stated that the John Deere is
out of service. He suggested if a new mower was not to be had next year, a new deck
should be put on the John Deere because the mower is in good shape except for the deck.
No more welding it. Also some thought has to be given to the Love Lane bulkhead. He
also reported that he needs a anew trailer to haul the Toro or tractor. There is trouble
with loading the Toro on the trailer we have.
Mr. Deegan and Dan Ross stopped in to the meeting room after voting to ask
about the lighting situation at Aldrich lane. They were told that the ligthting system is
estimated to cost$30,000.00 to be updated—the service has be to redone from the pole
and wires buried. Also a new fuse box installed.
Alex Martin reported the John Deere needs work. Jerry Zuhoski is going to talk
to Mr. Baker about welding the deck.. Alex also said the steering seems to be loose and
they need blades for the Toro. Alex needs a weed wacker or trimmer of some kind to
handle the heavier trimming work. Jerry Zuhoski told him to stop at Northeastern
Equipment to see about a gas weed wacker and get a figure. Also Alex stated he was
hired full time(40 hours a week). He was told then that he was appointed to a 40 hour a
week position as laborer.
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerry Zuhoski and carried Russell
Nine has been hired for 25 hours per week at $8.00 per hour as of August 1,2003 to open
