Landmark Preservation Commission Minutes
3:00 p.m., March 19, 2013
Southold Town Hall Annex Conference Room
Attendees:
James Garretson, Doug Constant, Gary Parker, Anne Surchin, and Damon Rallis.
Call to Order & Approval of Minutes:
Meeting was called to order and minutes from the February 19, 2013 meeting passed
unanimously.
Old Business:

Damon announced that Mark Tweedy, landmark intern, was scheduled to begin work on April 1.
Commissioners discussed the various ways in which they could use the information garnered by
his work to create new legislation, landmark additional homes, and educate the public.
Commissioners voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Larry Jungblut, with regret, and
authorize the town board to advertise the position.
New Business:
Commissioners met with architect Kevin Perry regarding proposed alterations to an existing
accessory garage at 1095 Village Lane, Orient, and agreed to schedule a public hearing for April
16., 2013.
Commissioners reviewed proposed alterations to an existing single family dwelling at 2395
Village Lane, Orient, and agreed to schedule a public hearing for April 16, 2013.
Commissioner Gary Parker discussed proposed work at the “Terry House” in Orient and
commissioners agreed that a public hearing would be required. Commissioner Parker said he

would have the necessary paperwork filed with the building department for an April 16 hearing,
