Town Hall Annex Executive Board Room
Attendees:
Doug Constant, Mel Phaff, Barbara Schnitzler, Jim Grathwohl, Larry Jungblut, Don
Feiler and Damon Rallis.
Commissioners conducted a site inspection at 145 King Street (Rose), in Orient and at 195 Village Lane
(Nealz), in Orient, prior to their regular meeting.
Call to Order & Approval of Minutes:
The meeting was called to order and the minutes from the August 16, 2011 meeting passed
unanimously.
Old Business:
Jamie discussed the need to reinforce the “historical aspect” of the Southold Town Planning
Department’s proposed “community character” section of the draft Mater Plan and the need for
more historic preservation.
Regarding the proposed hiring of an intern to update the town’s SPLIA list, Damon explained that
he was still awaiting word from the town’s accounting office regarding the status of civil service
approval.
Regarding the “awards program,” Damon said that he had not yet had a chance to draft the
language specific to the award winners.
Damon presented the drawings for proposed additions and alterations to an existing single family
dwelling at 145 King Street (Rose), in Orient. Commissioners officially accepted the drawings
and moved to schedule a public hearing on the project for October 18, 2011.
