MEETING MINUTES
MEETING # 106
July 08, 2015
Present:
Rona Smith, Beth Motschenbacher, LeRoy Heyliger, Dan Sarnowski, Michael Herbert,
Excused:
William Dougherty, Jeanne Kelley and Phillip Beltz. Fred Andrews, Eric Dantes and
Councilman Jim Dinizio. Meeting began at 5:32 p.m.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of June 10th were approved.
Scheduled Town Board Meeting for HAC:
Rona and Beth will meet with the Town
th
Board on Tuesday, July 14 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss goals/objectives, etc. All of HAC is
invited to attend.
First-Time Homebuyer CPF Exemption:
One exemption approved for June.
2015 Goals and Objectives:
Rona distributed worksheet of goals and members of HAC
volunteered or were selected to work towards achieving objectives as well as timelines.
Discussion of relevance of inviting realtors—agreed that meeting with them may provide
opportunities to share HAC goals/objectives – Beth will invite Julia Robins and Phillip will
invite Tom McCarthy to the August meeting.
Setting Sales Price/Rentals/Inclusionary Zoning Buyout:
Discussion with Jeanne
providing relevant banking and financial information as well as information about grants.
Everyone in agreement to utilize formula used in the past and Phillip will put on resolution
for the Town Board to adopt.
HAC Opening
: Phillip reported that John Vahey resigned from HAC due to his onerous
work schedule. He was grateful for having the opportunity to serve with HAC.
Revisiting Comprehensive Plan:
Rona requested that HAC review the Comprehensive
Plan and be prepared to volunteer to assist in updating its content as it is almost two years
old and written when the Town and nation were amidst a serious recession.
Other:
Discussion of Pawlowski proposed change of zone application (for General
Business.) Several HAC wish to send letter of support, others supported sending letter
only if apartments remain affordable in perpetuity. Phillip suggested that change of zone is
not for AHD (Affordable Housing District) and that it is not under purview of HAC as the
Town Board and Planning Board had a joint meeting to review the application and
informed applicant necessary steps to proceed (notification of neighbors, etc.) before it
sets a public hearing to hear the views of all citizens.
The meeting concluded at 6:40 p.m.
Next Meeting is scheduled for:Wednesday, August 12th at 5:30 p.m.
