An elevation certification from Peconic Surveyors is also attached with this letter. The surveyors were at the site on May 5, 2015 and determined that the elevations are as follows: Basement Floor EL 9.5 NGVD datum First Floor EL 18.5 NGVD datum Generator Pad EL 17.1 NGVD datum The condominium property is in a Special Flood Hazard Area - Flood Zone AE-EL.10, which requires that any proposed residential floor area or proposed generator must be located at or above elevation 12. The generator (Permit #39622) is located above EL.12, the finished basement is not - at EL.9.5. Since the condominium complex was built before the community's first flood map was issued on 03/18/80 (known as pre -FIRM structure) and the non-structural improvements represent a non -substantial improvement - the owner's request to finish the basement can be permitted. The property card states that the building permit #10234-Z for unit 1D was issued on 05/22/79. The owner is grateful for your assistance in clarifying the above mentioned issues, and he is looking forward to receiving the permit for the finished basement as indicated on the attached application. Power Rating The gross power rating for individual gas engine models is labeled in accordance with SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers code A940 (Small Engine Power & Torque Rating Procedure), and rating performance has been obtained and corrected in accordance with SA J1995 (Revision & fiec` 2002-05). Torque values are derived at 3060 RPM; horsepower values are derived at 3600 RPM. Net power values are taken with exhaust and air cleaner installed whereasross ower values are collected without these attachments. Actual gross engine ower will be higher than net engine power and is affected by, among other things, ambient operating -conditions and engine-to-enine varibility. Given the wide array of products on is WASP which engines are placed, the -gas engine may not develop the rated gross power when used in a given piece of power equipment. This difference is due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the variety of engine components (air cleaner, exhaust, charging: cooling, carburetor, fuel pump, etc.), application limitations, ambient operating conditions (temperature, humidity, altitude), and engine -to -engine variability.
