Building Plan
We are proposing to use our existing detached garage as a farm stand. Besides asking for
a farm stand permit, we are planning on making one minor changes to the structure.
1) Remove the eastern most garage door and install one 8' wide, 6'10" tall Anderson
Perma Shield Gliding Patio Door.

Description of Deep Roots Farm Operations
Deep Roots Farm is in its e year of operation. We leased land in Orient for 2 seasons
and 2015 is our second year at our current location (57685 Main Rd. Southold). Our
main business is vegetables. Over the last 4 years we have sold our produce to a few local
restaurants and stores. We also supply a CSA (community supported agriculture)
subscription at Fork and Anchor General Store in East Marion. If we get a permit for a
farm stand we will be expanding our production and selling direct to consumer from the
farm. We will only being selling what we grow. We hope to lease land in Southold town
over the next few years but we are currently only growing on our property. We grow
almost 100 varieties of vegetables. Everything from lettuces and other greens to winter
squash, potatoes, garlic ect. We will be adding perennials and fruit such as asparagus and
berries this season.
We are registered with Suffolk County as a DBA under the name Deep Roots Farm.
We are insured through Farm Family Insurance in Aquebogue.
We currently hold membership with the Long Island Farm Bureau and NOFA-NY
