Surrounded by residences that line Main Rd. ,'.NYS Rte. 25,
the historic Kings H';vy., of varying historic date and
high architec~ural integrity.
18. OTHER 'NOTABLE FEATURES OF BUILDING AND SITE (including interior features if known) :
Large wooden church with gable roof, gable end to th-e
street, flanked by 2 square towers , one higher than :,
the other. Both have louvered arched openings in the
belfry and pyramidal spires. On west tower sweeping
shingled roof protects the main entrance. All roof

style windows on main (north) facade.

Rhode Isl a nd . Note pulley wheel and endless
chain fo r revolving the cap.
57 East Marion Windmill in 1880 . The EaSt
Marion Windmill on Long Island's North
Fork had four floors and an ogee cap. An
art icle in Harpers New Monchly Ma gazi ne for
187 8 states that this miil was built "around
1800 ." [n the a bove photograph, the miller
holds the brake rope, which le ads o ut through
the back o f the cap.
