HOUSING CODE INSPECTION
October 19, 1977
17915 Soundview Avenue R-1
Southold, N.Y.
Tax Roil: Alfred J. Bartosiewicz & wf.
Occupied: Owner
Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing
Certificate of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this one-
story wood framed dwelling. I was admitted to building by
Mr. Bartosiewicz and began this inspection at approximately
3:00 P.M.
The building was constructed on a cement block founda-
tion that provides a full cellar and one-car garage on east
end of building. The first floor contains three bedrooms,
living room and dining, kitchen, and a full bathroom. Heat
is furnished to all rooms from an oil fired hot water furnace
located in cellar.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Code of the Town of Southold, New York, were found:
Stairway - stair to cellar within dwelling requires
handrail on open side, Article II, Section 52-26 B.
Electric wall outlet - on west wall near garage door
entry requires plate, Article V, Section 52-56 A 1.
Fire safety - one-car garage within dwelling directly
under bedrooms at east end of building. There is no
fire resistant separation provided between habitable
area. Garage is not partitioned from cellar portion
of dwelling which requires fire resistance rated parti-
tion. Heat producing equipment in cellar subject to
heavier-than-air flammable vapors, Article I, Section
52-1~ Reference to New York State Building Construction
Code (Sec. A 402-3 6 aob.c.)
Inspection completed at approximately 3':20 P.M.
