4. Current Status of Historic Building(s) or Place(s): -Extant
5. Evidence of Structural Modifications: -Porch expanded to encompass entire
front facade and balustrade replaced.
6. Notes: -Fine example of mid-nineteenth century “Flat-Roof” House. Although,
original survey was mistaken in calling these flat roofs; Italianate style
employed only very low hipped roofs that appear flat from the ground surface,
aerial imagery confirms that these were not flat but low pyramidal forms.
House and outbuilding complex contributes significantly to historic viewshed
and landscape of Peconic.
