DiSalvo, Diane From: Greg Cahill <gregnorthfork@gmail.com> Sent: Friday,April 29, 2016 1:42 PM To: DiSalvo, Diane Subject: Permit No. 8605 I stopped in at the Trustees office last week to get a form to amend my current permit to build a dock. While there I asked what should I do when the NYDEC puts a condition on their permit that counters a condition that the Trustees put on their permit. In my case, the Trustees want me to remove the seaward gabion baskets from my shoreline. NYDEC, however, wants no alteration, expansion, or replacement of the existing gabion baskets. I am in a difficult spot - damned if I do and damned if I don't. I was advised to ask to meet with the Trustees at their next field inspection to see what solution can be worked out and add any possible solution to the permit amendment I plan to submit. Please let me know if I can get on the Trustees schedule for their next field inspection which I understand to be May 11. I understand there is a$50 fee associated with this which I will pay next week when I am out in Southold. Thank you. In addition, please submit a typed or hand-written page with just the newly revised project description. The owner is at risk of possibly receiving a violation on the unpermitted gabion, however the Trustees are willing to have the applicant include this structure into the application to avoid this occurrence. Along with the updated application pages, the following will be needed: 1) Re-noticing of project(do not fill out first two pages in attachment until our office sends you another a package in the mail with Notice of Hearing card) 2) Revised project plans which must include the existing gabion DRAWN TO SCALE including a CROSS-SECTIONAL VIEW and dimensions labeled, in addition the current plans have two views of dock(look down and cross- sectional view)that do not match..The look-down view shows proposed floats and the cross-sectional view appears to display a fixed dock-please have this corrected. Please have Chris speak to owners to see what they are willing to have regarding the dock since what is being proposed (2 floats over 120sq.ft.) is against Town Code.
