Provided below is a description of the scope of work and cost to design a new
surface and subsurface drainage system along the southeastern and eastern side of
Associates
the landfill as requested by the Town. This new drainage system will provide
Garrett M. Byrnes, P. E.
additional storage/parking area on the eastern side of the Collection Center and

eastern area of the Collection Center to the northeastern recharge basin.
Gerald Gould, CPG
William D. Merklin, P.E.
The scope of work includes the following:
Michael Neuberger, P.E.
Richard R Russell, P.E.
Charles J. Wachsmuth, P.E.
1. Development of a fill and grading plan to fill former Recharge Basin
Kenneth P. Wenz, Jr., CPG No. 4 and fill quantity estimate;
2. Development of a drainage and grading plan, including swale and
catch basin design, to direct storm water runoff from the southeastern
area of the landfill to collection points;
3. Design of a manhole and piping system to convey runoff from the
collection points to Recharge Basin No. 3;
4. Preparation of a cost estimate for construction of the new drainage
system.

Dear Mr. Terry:
This is in response to your letter dated February 5, 2002, regarding the need for a
determination regarding direction to address waste beyond the design cap limits
along the southeastern boundary of the landfill. As discussed at the progress
meeting on February 7, 2002, since a number of stakes defining the design cap
limits are missing, we require the stakes to be replaced to make a final
determination to either remove waste or extend the cap. Please inform me when
the stakes have been replaced.
