Terry MINUTES OF MAY 30, 2003 PROGRESS MEETING Affiliation Town of Southold Dvirka and Bartilucci Consulting Engineers Terry Contracting & Materials, Inc. 1. Comments on Minutes of Previous (May 20, 2003) Meeting Bob Terry stated that he is providing written comments on the May 20, 2003, meeting minutes. 2. Status of Installation of Replacement Water Supply Well Jim Bunchuck stated that he is waiting for a response from NYSDEC regarding relocation of the well to the Compost Facility. 3. Status of Construction on 17 -acre Parcel Jim Bunchuck stated that the construction on the 17 -acre parcel essentially is complete. 4. Status of Completion and Testing of Gas Monitoring Wells and Completion of Groundwater Monitoring_ Wells Bob Terry stated that an inspection of wells will be conducted by him and Frank DeVita of D&B next week. Bob will provide a gas monitoring meter to Jim Bunchuck to monitor the wells until Jim gets his meter repaired. 0 1314/T0605303(ROl) 1 5. Installation of Additional Vents in Southwest Gas Migration Control Trench Jim Bunchuck stated that he would like to put off installation of the additional gas vents and continue to monitor the gas wells to see if the levels in monitoring Well No. 6 decrease. 6. Replacement of Concrete Blocks Along Road to 17 -Acre Parcel Bob Terry stated that the blocks are being delivered and will be placed when the paving is completed. 7. Easement Termination Jim Bunchuck stated that he will ask the Town Attorney to send notices of easement termination next week. 8. Relocation of Road Along McBride Property Bob Terry stated that the road will be relocated late next week. 9. Grading of Transition Areas Regarding Fluger's concerns about runoff on to his property, Tom Maher suggested to wait to see if runoff is a problem and, if it is a problem, a berm/swale can be constructed later. Jim Bunchuck and Bob Terry agreed with this approach. 10. Placement of Topsoil and Erosion Control Blanket Bob Terry stated that all topsoil has been placed, except in the recharge basins and portions of the eastern transition area, which will be completed next week. Installation of erosion control blanket will be completed on the cap today and the remaining areas next 0 1314/FO605303(RO1) 2 it I week. Bob also stated that he will fertilize about 20 acres that appear to need it at no charge to the Town. 11. Installation of Fencing and Sound Barrier Bob Terry stated that fencing along McBride's property will be installed after the road is relocated, and temporary fencing will be installed along the eastern boundary in place of chain link fencing at the direction of Jim Bunchuck. 12. Completion of Submittals Bob Terry stated that all remaining submittals will be provided to D&B on Monday. 13. Schedule of Work Tom Maher expressed dissatisfaction with the slippage in the project schedule and that many of the items which Bob Terry agreed to complete by May 31 will not be completed. Tom stated that this slippage is due to insufficient resources being on the project. Bob Terry stated that he is doing the best with the resources he has and that this should not be of concern because he is doing a good job at a low cost to the Town. 14. Completion of Recharge Basins Bob Terry stated that Recharge Basins No. 1 and 2 basically are complete, except that silt will need to be removed from the bottom of the basins. Recharge Basin No. 3 will be completed next week. 15. Wildflower Seed Bob Terry stated that seeding essentially is complete, except by the residential area, which will be completed next week. 0 1314[rO605303(RO1) 3 16.
