Minutes of Previous Qpp2ary 24,202) Meeting Bob Terry said he has no comments on the January 17, 2002, minutes and that lie will submit any comments on last week's minutes. 2. - Recharge Basin 94 -- Drainage Redesign Cost Estimate Tom Maher asked Bob Terry if he had prepared the cost esiimate. Bob replied that he would have the estimate completed by tomorrow morning. Tom requested all items to have unit prices. S. Status of Aerial. PhcttnC14V11 Tom Maher asked Jim Bunchuck the status of the aerial photograph, Jim answered he is unsure whether or not the photograph was taken and that he will call Geomap% to determine the photograph's status. Jim also said that Geomaps can produce their own topographic map to tie in with the photograph. Tom asked Jim to obtain a price for the work aqd also to determine what contour intervals Geomaps could provide_ Jim spoke with Geornaps and informed Tom that they could provide 2 -foot contour intervals. Tom told Jim the Town needs to decide whether or not the slope east of Recharge Basin 43 needs to be regraded. Tom added regrading the slope before Recharge Basin #3 is completed will be significantly less costly than repairing the area should the slope fail in the future. Jim agreed the issue should be addressed promptly and will consult with John Romanelli. 4, Nonpotable Well — Status of Redesig Torn Maher said the redesign should be completed within two, weeks an"I the permitting process could begin at that point. 5. West Half of Landfill ^Status and Plan for Completion Toni Maher asked Bob Terry the status of the west half of the landfill. Bob said his plan is to complete the barrier protection layer installation shortly and then complete the drainage system on the south end. G, Qolf Driving Ran a Design Tom Maher asked Jim Bunchuck if the driving range had been discussed at the Town Board meeting. Jim said there was not much discussion or enthusiasm on the issue and stated he does not believe the plan will go forward. Tom asked Bob Terry the status of the grades on the east side assuming the driving range plan will not happen. Bob replied he believes the grades are in good shape. Bob added that there has been material added on the south end from cuts made on the west hill. Tom asked Bob what other additional material might be added to the east side. Bob answered that there is approximately 10,000 cy of material under the temporary road which needs to be moved, approximately 10,000 cy of C&D material on the east side, and there was roughly 1,000 cy of leaf material which has been moved to the east side. Bob also estimated that 5,000 cy of material may need to be out litom the northeast Swale on the east side. Torn said be believes a survey of existing conditions on the east side is necessary to detennine the 0 1314/r0204201(R01) 2 2005/009 02/05/2002 TUE 48:57 FAX 2008/009 status of the grades. Bob stated that the extra material may cause the high points on the east side to be 3 to 4 feet above the proposed grades. Tom said, in that case the slope of the swales may need to be increased. Bob said he will try to have McLean Associate;; out by Friday to survey the existing conditions on the east side. Tom told Jim lie believes the Town needs to stop accepting C&D shortly whether or not the. driving range plata goes forward. Tom also asked Jim to attempt to determine the Town's plans with regard to the driving range, as Bob needs to begin regrading shortly. Jim asked Tom if the grades on the east side need to be revised due to the additional material. Tom answered ycs. Jim stated he may need Terry to assist in building a temporary containment facility for C;&D adjacent to Recharge Basin #2. Bob also stated he believes C&D import should stop in order to accurately design the revised grading plan. Tom reiterated the need for a survey of existing conditions. Bob responded he will attempt to have the survey by the next meeting. Bob added there also may be additional material resulting from the east side drainage system cut if concrete debris is encountered. Tom asked Bob if any ;xtra material (sand) will be needed to mix with the material added to the east side to reach the necessary grades. Bob replied that he does not expect to have to mix any material unless leaves or other loose material is encountered when the . northeast swale is con& L Licted. Jim said there way be tree stumps located in the area. Toru stated any stumps wi l i .need to be ground down. 7. Status o f S ubmittals Not discussed. 8. Vegetative Cover Mix — Agonomist .Certification/ Revised Report and Testingby University of Massachusetts Torn. Maher asked Jim Bunchuck if the samples were sent. Jim said that the), had been sent out 'and were received by the University of Massachusetts. Bob Tc.rry said he was supposed to be involved in the sample collection. rim replied that Dave Zuhoski was instructed to consult with Terry on the sample collection. Status of Sand Screening and Testing - Use of 17 -Acre Material for Eastern Portion of Landfill/Cap - Schedule for Placing Barricr Protection Laycr Over Geomcmbr me Bib Terry said screening is ongoing. Torn Maher stated that Pete Sutheylan.d (Tectonic Engineering) has approved of the amount of testing; and the piioe for testing. 10. Test Gas Vents on Eastern Portion of Landfill Chris Morris said the vents were tested again producing no results above background. 11. Regrading of Northeast Area to 3: 1 Sloue Bob said the work will be completed during the east side drainage system installation and the sand stripped from the area will be used as contour grading material. 12. Soil Test Results Tim Howell said all testing is up to date. 13. Review of Revised Savings and Additional Costs; to Date Tom Maher asked Bob Terry if he had any comments on the topic. Bob answered no, except for the additional cost he had initially requested for the change to the southwest drainage system. Bob added that it now appears that the costs for the additional manhole and pipe will roughly. equal the savings associated with the seduced cuts in the arca Tom said the cost of the gas migration control trench piping also should be included. Bob Terry provided Tom Maher with a list of prices for the movement of the temporary road, the construction of the temporary RCA pad and the road leading to the pad. 15. Discussion of Area of Waste Disl2o2al and Placcrncnt of Fill I Tom Maher asked how many cubic yards of loam have been placed on the west half of the landfill. Tim Howell answered approximately 42,000 cubic yards. Submittal No. 33 Missing — Fornial ]Notification Tim Howell provided Tom Maher with a rovised copy of Submittal No, 33, clarifying the issue. 18. Bob Terry said using pressure treated wood also is a possibility. Tom asked Bob to provide a cost estimate for the work and to include information on the level of sound protection the wood would provide. Jim Eunehuek asked Bob 'ferry if he can fix the fencing on the temporaryroad. Bob said he has to get the necessary rolls of fencing and suggested the use of snow fence. Jun Bunchuck informed Bob Terry that Ken Sehider of the NYSEFC is expecting, Terry's -quarterly M/WBE report. Bob stated he would prepare the report. Tim requested a copy of Bob's report. Tom Maher asked Bob Terry for a schedule of'work fur the compost l`acility. 'Bob responded that at this point it would be difficult to prepare a schedule..
