Minutes of Pxevious Qdgy 3.2002 Meeting Bob Terry has not yet reviewed minutes of the three preV110Uq meetings. He reserved the right to comment in waiting. 2. Status of Surveying of Eastern Portion of Landfill by McLean McLean (surveyor for Terry) recently finished the topographic; surveying for the north half or so of the eastern portion of the landfill. Bob hopes to have this survey to D&B by tomorrow so that with D&B's approval he can then move forward with adding the final subgrade and gas venting layer to this area. 3. Status of Fire Department Plan, to Install the 14Tongotable SunOly Well Jim Bunchuck is looking into this and will get the cost from the Fire Depaxbrnent. 4. Additional Testing of Vegetative Cover Mix by theTow, and Terry The three satuples agreed to be taken at the May 3, 2002, Progress Meeting will be collected either today or tomorrow by J. Bunchuck, R. Terry and J. Mulligan. 6. Status of Completion of Permanent Pad for 17 -acre Parcel Shn Bunchuck will have Town personnel (starting this weekend) remove leaves and wood chips along the western boundary so that Terry can excavate and lay filter fabric and RCA in this area. The Town will then move brush frog the northern 3 -acre area onto the area prepared with RCA to the south so that Terry can access this 3 -acre area for sand. This is critical since the sand will be needed for covering the eastern portion of the landfill. 7. Status of Sand 5creoing and Testing Bob Terry said no screening is taking place at the present time, S. Status of Soil Test Results Not discussed. 9. PLar► and Schedule for Lowering Manhole #3 along Southwest Drainage_System Bob Terry said work started. today. Bob agreed that rebar would be added when recemcnting the sidewall and bottom of the manhole and epoxy would be applied to seal the bottom where it meets the side wall as best possible. 10. Daily Schedule of Work for Next 2 Weeks Bob Terrywill complete today and forward to D&B. 13. - latus of Request for Time Extension Tom Maher contacted John Romanelli to determine if the Town Board has taken action on this. Tom said that the Town would need a cost update for both construction and engineering, before making a. decision. 14. ­Plan/Proposal for Placement of Subgrade and Gas Venting Layer on East Side of. Landfill and to Ca . mete West Side Bob Terry handed out a letter dated May 9, 2002, addressed to Toni Maher wherein he outlined a proposal to deal with the subgrade and gas venting layer on the east side of the landfill. Tom and Bob discussed this for quite some time. Tom is willing to ask the Town for approval to use approximately 20;000 cy of "screened" sand located in the southwest corner of the borrow pit, as well as considering paying Terry for screening additional sand from the 17 -acre parcel. Tom said he will review Terry's proposal to pay additional money for transporting sand from the 17 -acre parcel to the east half of the. landfill. Tom feels that Terry saved money on the west side of the landfill in using sand from the 17 -acre parcel, Torn asked Bob to give him backup information on the $1.85 per cubic yard cost for transporting the sand as contained in his May 9, 2002, proposal. (Note: Bob Terry agreed to have McLean survey/as-built the manhole and pipe inverts on the system ,before backfilling). Bob also said he will personally contact Cassola Well Drilling today to arrange for the abandonment and installation of gas and water monitoring wells since Tim Howell has not been successful to date in getting Cassola on- site. Tom Maher suggested that only in the southwest area should new gas monitoring wells be installed, since they and the new groundwater monitoring wells might be damaged if installed elsewhere at this time. Tom said he wants this work done by next week prior to placement of the .liner south of the permanent road.
