Minutes of Previous (August 2, 2002) Meeting Bob Terry said he had not read the minutes. There were no comments by anyone else. 2. Status of Submittals No comments. Tim Howell indicated that submittals are up to date. 3. Status of Sand Screening and Testing Bob Terry said they are continuing to screen sand on the 17 -acre parcel and making good progress. 4. Status of Soil Test Results and Resolution of Three Gas Vent Layer Samples Tim Howell said he will send a letter to Tectonic Engineering by Tuesday of next week explaining the situation regarding the three gas vent layer samples.. 5. Discussion with Ed Wankel Regarding Seed Mixture Jim Mulligan explained his recent discussion with Ed Wankel on the seed mixture. Ed recommended using a seed mix comprised of 60% Fescue (Tall, Creeping, Rough) and 40% Perennial Rye for the golf facilities. Tom Maher asked Jim to speak to Ed again to confirm this in writing. Also, Bob Terry suggested adding annual wheat seed to this mix which Jim will discuss with Ed. 6. Daily Schedule of Work for Next 2 Weeks Tim Howell handed out their work schedule for next week. The schedule calls for: • screening sand on 17 -acre parcel • removal of the temporary road ♦ 1314W0809204.doc(ROl) -1- grading area by the temporary road • removal of fence along permanent road 7. Status of Construction of 17 -acre Parcel Excavation of sand and sand screening continues to take place. Sometime next week, Bob Terry said they expect to expand the RCA pad farther to the south. 8. Schedule for Completion of the Permanent Road and Removal of the Temporary Road to 17 Acres See Item 6. Also, Bob Terry said that the concrete blocks are being installed starting today along the edges of the permanent road. Tom Maher asked about the cost of the concrete blocks. Bob Terry said there is a letter summarizing this cost along with credits given for elimination of the guardrail and concrete curbing. Bob said the only extra cost will be for the asphalt curbing which will be about $1.75 to $2.00 per lineal foot which works out to be around $2,000 for the length of the permanent road. 9. Design of Primary Road on to 17 -acre Parcel and Status of Construction of Secondary Road The secondary road is now in place and Terry is widening it from its current 18 -foot width to 30 feet which will then become the primary road. Tom Maher recommended that the road have a maximum grade of 7% which translates into a road length of about 260 feet. Tom also recommended that the road be paved rather than just using RCA. Having looked at the area after the meeting, Tom further recommended that a swale be established between the landfill and the road in order to catch runoff from the landfill. Note that this information was provided to Jamie Richter, Jim Bunchuck and George Desmaris of H2M after the progress meeting. Tom agreed to send grading plans and other information, including a suggested cross section of the road, to Jim Bunchuck and Jamie Richter. Jamie Richter agreed with Tom's recommendations and discussed these details along with drainage considerations later with George. 10. Status of Completion and Testing of Gas Monitoring Wells along Southwester Boundary Jim Mulligan said that no further work has been done to complete the four wells nor were they tested this week. Monitoring results thus far have not indicated the presence of methane in the wells. 11. Response to Revised Chenango Cost Backup for Phased Liner Installation on West Side The information Terry has forwarded from Chenango on this issue has not been reviewed as yet by Jim Mulligan. Jim recommended that it also be reviewed by Tectonic and Tom Maher agreed. Jim will fax a copy of it to Peter Sutherland for his review. 12. Proposal for Plantings along Southern Boundary Bob Terry said he will forward the proposal to Tom Maher on Monday, August 12, 2002. ♦ 1314\0809204.doc(R01) -2- i- 13. Other The Town will provide Terry with the location (Metes and Bounds) of the former Corazzini property which will serve as the new access road between the landfill and Cox Lane.
