Tom Maher asked for inrormation on the voltune of materials imported into the landfill,
i.e.. daily cover, fill, C&;D, yard waste. Based on these volumes, Tom directed that. "loam" from
the 17 -acre parcel be used henceforth as daily cover outside of the loam exclusion area, rather
than the sand froni the borrow pit. Tom also asked ,Tim Bunchuck to check with H2M about
using some of the loam for the proposed berm around the perimeter of the 17 -acre parcel. Loam
also is to be used ti here Possible in regrading the borrow pit area. It was noted that
approximately 10,000 cubic yards of C&D and yard waste has been landfilled frorn June 19,
2001, to present.

3. Wood _Chip.
It was agreed to mix ]own with the wood chips encountered in the southwest corner of the
east half of the landfill and spread the mixture in sufficiently thin lifts to ensure adequate
compaction.
4. Clearing/Gribbin,~ of Upper' Plateau Area of Borrow Pit
Upon visual inspection of this area, Jim Bunchuck decided that the trees and vegetation
should be saved as much as possible. Consequently, the "cuts" proposed in that general area will
not be made and, rather, the additional material needed for regrading the side slopes in the
Borrow Pit would come from the 17 -acre parcel (loam) and possibly from the Proposed recharge
basin in the 17 -acre parcel (sand). 1.1 was agreed that D&B would not revise the gradhig plait for
the Borrow Pit but, instead, Bob Terry will produce an "as -built" plan after the flour and side
Nslupes are regraded.
5. Test Pits t_o Determine, limits of Waste
Starting Tuesday, August 21, test pits will be, excavated to determine the limits of waste,
in particular in the area of the Borrow Pit and the Collection Center. Carl Fritz will be present to
assist in determining whether or not the material encountered in the test pits is considered
"waste." and needs to be removed or cappcd.
6. Dust Control fe-rLoam F,csvatiun at 17 -acre Parcel
Bob Tcrry still is considering how he will provide adequate dust control here., options lie
will explore include:
•
Second water tank
• Dewatering well (NYSDEC permit. necessary)
• Existing well in subdivision to west of the 17 -acre parcel

electric will be supplied to the trailers.
8.
Tern rary Road to 17 -acre. Parcel
Bob Tent' provided a price quote of $36,250 (under cover letter from T. Howell to T.
Maher) for installing the temporary road and '/2 -acre pad. Aehial volumes and materials will
cause adjustment to this, quote as stated by Bob Terry. The work is to be done as soon as
possible rid will be billed by Terry under separate contract with the Town.
9/10. Push Wall Location Mr C&D Lgjyj)in) and Swale Review
Any relocation of the northern portion of the concrete block wall will be contingent on
Nwhether waste is found in the test pits to be excavated. Bob Terry thinks'that he may be able to
constntct the gas migration and anchor trenches it! the area of the push wall if the waste limit
stays as is. •1f the trenches need to be constructed ftlrther south, Bob Terry said he would saw cut
the asphalt pavement. D&B still needs to reconfigure the planting area and swale in that general
location.
11. West Maintenance Road
The North Maintenance Road connecting the 17 -acre parcel with the Borrow Pit will be
increased in width to 24 feet (RCA) in the direction of die northern property bowidmy in order to
provide adequate 2 -way traffic for Town equipment. This will `not require a revision to the
design drawings, but will be included on the "as -built" drawings by Bob Terry.
