Bids are to be opened on September 11; bid to be awarded on September 13, and work started by September 15 and completed by October 1,2001, ,Tim also questioned whether storing the contaminated soil on the 17 -acre parcel would be a problem. Dave Glass said he will talk to NXSDEC about this concern. 3. Available Remaining Space for Waste Dave Glassin that Jim Mulligan and Tectonic person. John Dowley, had measured yesterday and calculated as best possible that approximately 19,000 cy of space is stili available on landfill to meet D&B revised subgrade plan less 6 inches. Bob Terry said their surveyor, McLean Associates, had surveyed the: landfill yesterday and that the survey information would be available on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. 4. Waste Excavation Area 2 Although D&B has talked to Bob Terry on a method and cost for dealing with this area, Bob Terry said he. wants to think about it more before starting work. Dave Glass asked to minimize the test holes. 5. Waste Excavation Area 3 Bob Terry stated that work started in this area yesterday and would be finished sometime next week. "The same trait price will apply here as for Waste Excavation Area No. 1, namely $6.76 cy. Igor Sikiric ofNYSDEC should inspect this work prior to backfilling. 6. Type I Geotextile Bob Terry stated that eliminating the Geotextile will cause a hardship to him. Holbrook Pipe has told him its ready to be manufactured. Dave Glass asked Bob Terry to call Holbrook Pipe to find out the implications of canceling the purchase order. Bob agreed to do so. Jim Bunchuck said he will consult with the Town Attorney on whether the Town can purchase approximately half of Terry's purchase order of geotextile for use on the 17 -acre parcel. 7. Status of Temporary and Permanent Access Roads to 17 -Acre Parcel Bob Tent' indicated that the temporary road and half -acre pad are complete, fencing posts installed and that the safety fence would probably be uistalled tomorrow. Bob Terry is to charge this work to the compost facility project. Dave Glass said the permanent road issue will be discussed with Town officials .at a Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 11, 2001. 8. Construction Schedule Bob Terry said it was difficult to produce an accurate construction schedule (revised) since there were scvcrel outstanding issues yet unresolved. Dave Glnss asked Bob Terry to jtuat resubmit the ' latest construction schedule version he now has, which Bob agreed to do. Jim Bunchuck explained the need for the new schedule, namely for the purpose of submission of necessary papenvork to NYSDEC regarding state grant money. 9. Relocation of Swale at Southeastern Perimeter Dave Glass will fonvard latest subgrade plan to McLean surveyors for their use. 10. Engineer's Office Trailer Sonic items still need to be furnished by Terry. Jim Bunchuck agreed to continue holding progress meetings in his office however. 11. Excavation of Sand from 17 -Acre Parcel Bob Terry suggested that sand from the 17 -acre parcel be screened and tricked for `use on the landfill lather than to the borrow pit area. Dave Glass acknowledged the suggestion and will give it consideration. 12: Dust Control Jim Bunchuck is not pleased with dust control although no complaints have been received from neighbors, Bob Teny said the time it takes to fill the water tank is the major problem. Even though the Town is responsible for dust control on the temporary road, Bob Terry said he would provide dust control there. Bob also said he will have a generator delivered on site tomorrow and their electrician will hook it up to the existing well on Monday, September 10, 2001, This will decrease the tune to fill the water tank. The water from this well can be used only within the limits of the cap. 13. Other Matters Tim Bunchuck raised the issue concerning the adequacy of the leaf mulch as compost for the vegetative cover mix.- He asked Bob Terry what Bob intends to do to determine the quality of the leaf mulch. Bob said he would like D&B to determine if it's adequate. Jim Bunchuck said the Town may plant a test plot. Bob Terry then said he may bring some of the leaf mulch to Cornell Cooperative Extension for analysis. Bob also questioned if there is an adequate volume of this material.
