1. Comments on Minutes of October 4, 2000. Progress Meeting
Mein 10 of these minutes, Interface Friction Tests, is wrongly worded as stated by Bob
Terry. The item should read, "Bob Terry said he is still waiting to receive laboratory test results;.
He aloo stated that the liner installer indicated it would be OX to install 6 -inch to 12-hacb
modified rip rap on the composite over the liner,"
ltern 16 of these minutes, Removal/lvlovement of Temporary Access load to 17 -Acre
Parcel and Access from Depot Lane, is incorrect as recalled by Bob Terry and Tim Howell.
Specifically, ti-JeL statement, "If nemssary during construction of the permanent road and cap, the
temporary road would be relocated at no cost to the Town;" was never made. Any relocation of
the temporary road necessary may incur a cost to the Town. Also, this item states, "Bob Teary
said that the permanent road will first be installed and, only thereafter, would the temporary road
be removed." Bob Terry stated that he will make a good faith effort to do so, but such action is
dependent on the design of the proposed permanent access road.

3. Work Schedule
Tim Howell gave Jim Mulligan a copy of next week's work schedule cornering the work
to be done on the west half of the landfill through its completion. Bob said'he would have this
schedule at next week's progress meeting.
4. Rccharge Basin #4 — Drainage Redesign NYSDEC Approval Status
Toni Maher said that NYSDEC appears to have no problems with the change, but is still
awaiting their written approval.
S. Gas Migration Control Trench — Stone and Redesign — NYSDEC Approval Status
Toni Maher said that NYSDEC has not objected to the change thus far, but he is ` still
waiting for their written approval. Tom asked Bob Terry at what angle the trench would be dug
based on the Lest trench dug a few days ago. Bob responded that it was about 45 degrees. Tom
said be would prefer a 7 on 1 slope since space may be a problem, especially on the south end
near the property line and permanent road. Bob said he would study this further and agreed
space may be an issue. Torn also said that a 4-foot.PVC riser, rather than the 3 -foot proposed in
Terry's drzii&ing, should be installed for the trench vents. Bob agreed with this change. Toru
asked Bob to submit a cost for the pipe and turbines, which Bob agreed to do.
ti. 17 -Acre Gra a& I!Ian and Water Supply Wed Location flan by H7N1
Jinn Bunchuck has spoken to George D. of H2M and George -will contact Torn Maher
toniorrow on the gradLig plass and well location issues, Toni asked Bob Terry to submit a cost
proposal to lay a water -main for the proposed well on the 17 -acre Parcel to the area where a well
has been proposed previously (near the scale) and ending with a fire hydrant. Bob said he would
do so once given the size and materials of the pipe. Tom asked Jim Mulligan to assist in this
regard. Jim Bunchuck will check with the Fire Department on their requirements-

Bob Terry will send their new work plan to Torte Maher by tomorrow. The plan includes
credit for sole source materials provided by the Town.
8. Suberade on Vest Half of Lanfill — Status and Testing
Bob Terry reported that 35 to 40 percent of the west half of the landfIl is finished with
6 inches of subgrade (contour grading material). Jim Mulligan said it may be closer to 25
percent. Bob Terry said he will talk to his surveyor, McLean Associates, about the stakes for the
cap limit on the south end where they appear to have been located in error. Tom Maher said he
will confer with Pete Sutherland about testing called for in the specifications, since Bob Terry
feels some of it is unnecessary and the issue of how compaction is to be achieved must be
resolved, (See Item. 2 for discussion on work schedule)
9. Golf Driving Range Desi rrj
Tom Maher said the conceptual plan still is in the hands of NYSDEC with no response as
of this date.
10. Status of Subnxittals
Tom Maher said he thought this is not a major issue at this point.
11. Vegetative Cover Mix -- Agronomist Certification
Tom Maher said he is concerned over the suitability of the proposed mix (1/3 topsoil, 111.5
compost, 1/3 sand) especially with regard to leftover (contaminated) topsoil. Bob Terry said that
by next week he will retain the services of someone who can evaluate this.

Bob Terry estimates that 40 percent of this work has been completed, but that the Town
(Highway Department) is removing the screened sand very slowly.
16. Test Gas Vents on Eastern Portion of Landfill
Bob Terry checked on screens he thought he may have had at Riverhead office, but could
riot tiled any. Bob said he will install the test vents in about two weeks when the pipe is
delivered to the site.
17. Regrading of Northeast Area to 3:1 Slope Replacement
of C, -
V Material to Meet Friction Angle Res1Uir-gel s
Bob Terry and Torn Maher both agreed that the easiest solution to the problem is to
minimize the steep grade by Butting back the. embankment. Bob Terry said the property line will.
be staked in that area the next time the surveyors are on-site.
