Howell Terry Contracting & Materials 1. Minutes of Previous (November 21, 2001) Meeting No comments by anyone. 2. Recharge Basin #4 — Drainage Redesign Tom Maher said he is proceeding with the preliminary design which should be complete by the end of next week. 3. 17 -Acre Grading, Plan Bob Terry has the plans from H2M and indicated that the bids are due in to the Town today by 11 a.m. Bob said he did not see any problems with these plans and the transition to the landfill grading. 4.& 5. Nonpotable Well Tom Maher will be sending a proposal letter to Jim Bunchuck for the work involved with the nonpotable well, fire hydrant, controls, etc. Jim Bunchuck asked if an O 1314/F1130101(RO1) 1 :1 1 oil -water separator would be needed for washing down the Town's equipment. This needs further consideration. Tom asked Bob Terry to submit the well driller's (Cassola) proposal for drilling the well. Bob Terry will do so and also will move in submitting the well permit application to NYSDEC. Tom asked Jim Mulligan to check with Cassola on the issue of possibly "breaking suction." 6. Comments on Draft Field Order #2 and Change Orders #5, 6 and 7 Bob Terry is to submit any comments by Monday (December 3, 2001). Jim Bunchuck will review the change orders with Jim Mulligan. 7. MBE/WBE and EEO Work Plan Tom Maher has spoken to Ken Shider who will be approving the revised plan. Ken indicated that the Work Plan approval would be sent to John Cushman, Town Comptroller. 8. Subgrade on West Half of Landfill Bob Terry said that Barry Quimet (Tectonic Engineering) is continuing with their compaction testing. Excess contour grading material has been removed and the surveyor (McLean) is to shoot the elevations tomorrow. Contour grading has been completed from the siren to the north end. Bob questioned whether Barry could test fast enough, since Bob wants to start laying the gas venting material next Monday. Tom asked Jim Mulligan to confer with Barry on this issue. Tom asked Bob Terry to send the laboratory results of the screened sand (for gas venting material) directly to Pete Sutherland. 01314M 130101(RO1) 2 I Y 9. Golf Driving _Range Design Tom Maher said he would have a plan ready in about two weeks at which time he will review same with the Town and then with NYSDEC. Tom also will ask Bob Terry for a cost estimate on doing the work, since Jim Bunchuck is concerned with the cost. 10. Status of Submittals Tim Howell said he still owes certain submittals to D&B and will be addressing them shortly. 11. Vegetative Cover Mix Tim Howell indicated that the agronomist still is awaiting laboratory results. 12. Completion of Waste Excavation Area 3 Bob Terry indicated it will be completed today. 13. Status of Sand Screening and Testing - Sufficient Stone for Gas Migration Control Trench Bob Terry said he thinks he will have enough stone for the gas trenches as a result of the sand screening on the 17 -acre parcel. If not, Bob said he will import stone from his Riverhead facility. 14. Test Gas Vents on Eastern Portion of Landfill Bob Terry said the two test vents will be installed today or tomorrow. U 1314/T'1130101(RO1) 3 15. Regrading of Northeast Area to 3:1 Slope Bob Terry said he will set up a meeting with the adjacent property owner, Mr. Shroder. Tom Maher emphasized the need to do this soon. 16. Property Line Survey Bob Terry said the surveyor, Young and Young, has completed the property line survey as of today. 17. Plan for Dust Control During Winter Bob Terry said he will have the plan by the next Progress Meeting. 18. Waste Excavation Along Eastern Boundary and Removal of Material in Easement Area on Corrazini Property John Romanelli said he will be meeting with Corrazini on Monday, December 3, 2001, at which time he will discuss this issue with Corrazini. 19. Soil Test Results — Need for Two Additional Contour Grading Material Sam lames Tim Howell confirmed the need for Terry Contracting to collect these two samples. 20. Compaction Test Results on West Half of Landfill by Tectonic Results of compaction tests on November 28, 2001, were satisfactory. Testing by Tectonic is continuing. 0 1314/r1130101(R01) 4 21. Work Schedule The goal is to complete the contour grading compaction, lay the gas venting material and compact same, and begin installing the liner on the west half of the landfill. Bob Terry indicated he has the drainage pipe for the drainage system in the southwest quadrant and can begin that work. Because of the temporary and permanent road in the south, the liner may initially be installed only as far south as the siren according to Bob Terry with Chenango having to then be remobilized to install the remaining liner after the road work is completed. 01314/'r1130101(RO1) 5
