HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/2015TOWN OF SOUTHOLD RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT: APRIL 2015 2015 SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES: Programs currently being planned for the summer season include the following: • Senior Exercise • Yankees Bus Trip • Aerobics *Belly Dancing • Organic Gardening • Swimming Lessons *Developmental Disabilities • Summer Concert Series *Barnyard Camp • Watercolor Class • Yoga *Friday Morning Youth Program *Ballroom Dancing *Children's Theatre *Herbs for Health and Nutrition *Tennis • Tai Chi *Defensive Driving *Dog Obedience Pre -Therapy *Guitar Lessons *Golf Lessons •Ice Cream Making Workshop *Equestrian Camp *Adult Boating •Pilates, Yoga & Power Stretching • Smart Driver Course *Acrylic Painting *Dog Obedience PUPPY Star •Introduction to Drawing *Singing Course *Creative Art Workshop *Painting in Peconic *Plein Air Painting Workshop *Youth Tai Chi *Weight Training for Youth & Adults *CPR Course The brochure will be an insert in the Thursday, May 14th edition of The Suffolk Times. SLJMMh R SWIMMING LESSONS: As of this writing, I have 2 people taking a water safety instructor course. Once I am assured that they have passed and are properly certified through the American Red Cross, I will schedule swimming lessons, advertise, and start the registration process. 2015 SUMMER SEASONAL STAFF: Letters were mailed to all 2014 summer staff deemed worthy to be asked to work again this year. We are in need of some lifeguards and a couple of beach attendants to staff our beaches. Interviews have been scheduled for Thursdays, April 30 & May 7 at the recreation center. SPRING 2015 RECREATION BROCHURE: was an insert in the Thursday, March 5 edition of The Suffolk. Registration for all programs and activities has been steady throughout the month of April. RECREATION DEPARTMENT DEPOSITS & EXPENDITURES: Following are copies of our monthly bank statement, deposits made for the month, instructor payroll sheets, and 2015 purchase orders submitted to date.
