Planamento, Joan Bischoff Herb Adler – Discussed Invitations for Brecknock Hall. Walter Jackson let us know that Peconic Landing will sponsor food but wine and beer will need to be the committee. Gail Horton wanted to know the agenda for tonight, is the book to be discussed. Walter let us know that he and Mark Terry will speak with Rita from Academy Printing about invitations. And on Wednesday will finalize food with Peconic Landing. Gail Horton would like president of her society to be invited. Carol Hydell will get the addresses for the invitations. Gail Horton thought not whole town board but just Liaisons to Committee and Scott Russell. Education Budget for Travel expenses. Not attempting to go to Fishers Island with Building Department. Need line items for School transportation to events in Southold. Ferry from Fishers Island to New London then ferry to Southold. Al Krupski – When are they coming? Gail – End of June, goes to Legion, work around to different schools. Historical Society Oysterponds interim Director would like to help out in any way possible. Herb wanted to know if it is up to us to get the American Legion Hall for the event? Gail – yes, Southold Herb- Then we can have the Legion hold it for us as soon as we know the date. Gail – Mr. Gamberg will know which dates are better. Al Krupski felt that ROTC can help out with the event. Gail thought they can move things along. Walter said that they would be opening and closing doors, etc. Gail- Carlos Dejesus from the Greenport Historical Society may come to meeting of this committee. nd Herb let her know that meetings are open to anyone. His Church will participate 2 Saturday in July with a concert and program. Cork spoke about the Book Budget and wanted to know if we wanted him to look into LuLu? Herb – Geoff was supposed to be here and Cork might as well look into it. 1900’s on to discuss book. Louise Hargrave turned down committee helping with the book. Gail felt there are other Vineyards that can help. Al Krupski gave the name of Sam McCullum-Manager of Lenz and owns a vineyard Phone number 516- 314-1622. Is on the land preservation Committee and in the Industry. Gail – Ruth Anne was told about Gail doing the Power Point on Sterling Harbor. Caro Hydell will be the e-mail address for Business letter. Still need letterhead Cork discussed sponsors for mile markers in each hamlet; 3 in each hamlet. Al wanted to know what would they do? Cork discussed events at each marker; maybe Greenport Harbor Brewery or Cross Sound Ferry will adapt or sponsor a mile marker. Maybe Mile marker day. Benjamin Franklin, post master stamp, post card given out from different markers. Maybe cello playing at one or lemonade at another, but different things at each one. Herb wanted to know about the town hall marker – how would you handle it? Cork felt that there are some dangerous ones, like the one across from the Town beach. Maybe we could do it at the Town Beach. Maybe a week long and not so many people at one time. Participating from Laurel on the Old Main Rd. to Orient on the Old Main Rd. Will write a proposal on Marker coordination, budget and sponsors for markers. If any money raise could be given to Historical societies. Walter wondered about putting money up to restore them. Cork thought money from sponsor for event and committee Herb talked about if that was asking for money and the answer is no. Cork – thought that was great, so then we can have Greenport Harbor Brewery and Cross Sound Ferry. Gail thought it was too much too do. Cork – I would do the work, Can we solicit funds? Herb let us know that we cannot Cork discussed Mile markers and the events, he would have to think it through. Herb thought we were having the mile marker event. Cork suggested maybe if you go to 4 or 5 markers you could get a lemonade. Herb let Cork know that he should write up a proposal Cork said that he will Herb said that he was having a hard time imagining the proposal. Gail thought sponsors could be the historical society in each hamlet for each marker. Cork thought that sometimes private sector is easier than historical societies. Herb is a chairman and president of Historical Society. Cork discussed that Ruthanne Bramson had summited a letter to all Historical Societies Herb felt we should use Bob Ghosio’s Letter. Cork wanted to know if any correspondence will go out before year is up. Carol let him know that we don’t have the letterhead yet. Herb wants to study, plan and understand what need for the upcoming events is. Cork asked what the other events are and how to sponsor them? Gail what does the sponsorship entail? Al asked how many Historical Societies we have in Southold. Cork stated 8 or 9. Joan spoke about Heritage Group calling a meeting to meet with committee and Museums and Historical Societies and South Fork discuss Mile markers and events. Al asked do we know actual dates the English landed here? Herb thought it was sometime in October not sure thou Nick let us know that the North fork was settled in Late Spring by the men and Sept the Women and children came. And suggested Indian Game – la cross between the schools – Whalers vs Settlers to settle dispute as to who is the oldest town. Nick will bring in examples of caps, mugs, t-shirts – polo shirts. Maybe cups for sale at Brecknock Hall. Cups will be for sale at $10.00 and will order 50 to start. Carol will need invoice to order. Nick paid the $35.00 for set-up charge Herb felt we should order a limited order of anything including the mugs. st Nick it’s only the 1 of the year – can still order in time for the event. Herb reminded us its 5 weeks before the event. Do we need to get samples? Does everyone know what the mug looks like? Nick wanted to know the head count maybe order more than 50 mugs. M/M by Nick M/S by Gail Carol will order mugs Carol stated that we need to put on our calendar the time capsule date. Maybe around July Herb will speak with Lois Ross and North Fork Chorale about moving concert date. th Al thought the 4 of July Saturday for the Chorale at Silversmiths Corner and Time Capsule Cork felt that we could make the time capsule from PVC pipe and plugs Carol will ask if town is we can bury time capsule on town property. Committee members will be placing items in the time capsule. Carol read e-mails from Daniel, Bob and Ruth Anne. Nick thought we should buy Domain name – special projects. Maybe e-mail a letter to NFPC and list so they can m-mail out our letter. Joan went over his hand out about in order to get grant money for these items. Pull events from South Fork and North Fork together would be good for larger sponsors. Herb felt no problem for regional Nick made a note that it’s the town of Southampton not Village celebrating Joan PR will be free in Newsweek, Channel 12, and Newsday. Is interested in seeing two websites Gonorthfork.org. Great Website. Have to think about tourist and have interviews about where to go. Following face book and tweeter than Business will follow. Cork thought bold letters Al Any Money there? Joan Stated level looking here East End tourist line 6 – 7 hundred thousand dollars Grants for next year. Cork needs a list of events Joan spoke about organizing tall ships with co-branding would make it more interesting. Control as to what is happening. Everything in to one pot. Company American Express presents … at events. Herb also asked for a list of events Joan felt PR turned over to NFPR. Fee is needed when we meet with heritage group. Website is very important. Herb wanted to know what amount the committee needs to commit to. Joan let us know no money was needed at this time. One page less money larger – more money which should be covered by sponsors. Herb couldn’t see the loss in doing it. Joan – if everyone worked together, that’s important. Nick asked if we can purchase URL for Southold? Joan NFPC should own URL – put it on town website and wine council calendar. Can do Taste of North Fork immediately Carol can send out list of events Gail wanted to know next meeting date? Nick let her know it is January 12, 2015 Gail needed to know Time of Cocktail Party. Herb mentioned some major speakers, Supervisor, Al Krupski, Senator LaValle, and Supervisor of Southampton. Nick said the Party is January 12 5 to 7. We also need more dates of events. Gail reminded us of agenda items and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Nick NFPC should be allotted funds for URL, Website one page M/M Nick and M/S by Gail to accept $500.00 budget for NFPC for Website. Joan Regional Heritage Group working together for more than one year. Together you can do much more than alone. We should be using our culture to bring in tourism. Herb that is not committee’s mission only formed for one year. Nick would like to be working with NFPC and URL landing page. Joan Taste of Northfork.org & gonf.org. Nick if we have extra money do the bigger one. Joan Reinvent the wheel. Hamlets only PR themselves. Cork Any Discussion on link to page? Nick Yes, need website. Joan Annual Bill – Give to NFPC Nick Allocate money for URL and Website Herb would like to wait for Bob Ghosio is we could spare the $1,000.00. Walter let us know that we have Oyster Pond Society, Cutchogue/New Suffolk and Mattituck Society Cork would like to send out the work and ask for help. Gail would like them to decide the event. Cork said to just ask what they would like to do? Gail stated to say Please let us know the event. Cork – Composer Alliance have meeting and would like to let them know about events. th Herb we have no dates yet on when it will be performed. August 8 is the coast Guard Walter still waiting for Coast Guard Funding Cork needed to know if we can announce the date. Herb and Walter said yes. Nick- Mile markers – authorize cork to send out letter for mile markers and notations as to where they are. Meeting adjoined
