Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971-0959 Telephone (631) 765-1892 Fax (631) 765-6641 The following action was taken by the Southold Town Board of Trustees at their Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015: WHEREAS, BRADFORD WINSTON & SANDRA POWERS applied to the Southold Town Trustees for an Administrative Amendment to Wetland Permit #5562 under the provisions of Chapter 275 entitled Wetlands and Shorelines of the Southold Town Code, application dated March 2, 2015, and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council and to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program Coordinator for their findings and recommendations, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the addition of two (2) diagonal 6" diameter pile dolphins to secure the existing two (2) vertical 6" diameter float piles, as applied for, does not comply with the standards set forth in Chapter 275 of the Southold Town Code; §275-11 Construction and Operation Standards (C)(2)[a] Docks. It shall be the policy of the Town of Southold that all docks shall be designed, constructed and located so as to reduce a dock's potential adverse impacts to navigation, public safety, waterway congestion, access to public trust lands and water, and natural resources and habitats, and, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the two (2) diagonal 6" diameter pile dolphins to secure the existing two (2) vertical 6" diameter float piles, as applied for, will have a detrimental effect upon the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, and, that a single pile would be as effective and would not require a permit and would be environmentally more sound than the additional construction as applied for, NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees DENIES WITHOUT PREJUDICE the request to Amend Wetland Permit #5562 for the addition of two (2) diagonal 6" diameter pile dolphins to secure the existing two (2) vertical 6" diameter float piles.
