THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION NO. 2015-360 WAS
ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ON
APRIL 21, 2015:
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby adopts a Town Open Space
Project List Policy for Southold Town Open Space properties as part of the Town's
Stewardship Management Plans.

Town Open Space Project List Policy adopted by the Town Board on April 21", 2015 by
resolution 2015-360.
Applies to projects that involve:
• The creation or modification of infrastructure including trails
• Habitat modification
• Planning and design work related to the above
Does not apply to projects that involve:
• Public uses that are listed as allowed in adopted stewardship management plans
The Town will maintain a list of approved projects consisting of projects the Town
wishes to be conducted on or that are related to its open space holdings including
properties managed but not owned by the Town. The projects must meet the following in
order to be included on the list:
Projects must be consistent with:
• The acquisition purposes of the property
• The stewardship management plan for the property
• Any easements or restrictions on the property
• Any applicable Town policies that apply to the property
• Any applicable Suffolk County riles, policies, restrictions, etc. if the property is
owned in part or entirely by the County
• Any previous projects implemented on the property
Projects must:
• Be appropriate for the property and habitat
• Be of an appropriate size, scale and density for the property and habitat
• Have the ability to be easily maintained after implementation or, if not maintained
removed or restored
• Be something the Town agrees should be done
The project list may include projects with prerequisites and conditions that must be met
in order for the project to commence.
The project list and any updates to the list will be approved by the Town Board.
The project list will be used for the following purposes:
• Internal budgeting and scheduling of projects to be conducted by Town staff or
contractors
• Grant applications for funding to defray the costs of projects
• Public requests to conduct projects on Town owned or managed properties
