She suggested that the Tree Comm. donate a tree and plaque commemorating this event. There is an event planned at Silver Smiths corner. Peggy suggested that might be the time to plant the tree and or put the plaque there. Jill will contact Bob Ghosio the Town Board liaison to the 375th Comm. to find out the date and time. We will decide on the wording of the plaque and then order right away. Peggy also noted that the Tree that was planted many years ago on 1270 Cedar Drive is doing well. Peggy suggested we take a picture of it and put in the paper to show people what the Tree Comm. has done. Jill suggested we contact Phil Belts to see if maybe we can get in the Towns community ad that will be coming out around Arbor Day. Derek will take a picture of the tree and Jill will contact Phil B. Derek was contacted by Jack McGreevy letting him know that the small tree planted at the old Submarine Base on New Suffolk Ave. has died. It was discussed about keeping the tree watered. It was suggested to contact the New Suffolk Civic Association to see if they can keep the tree watered. Gator bags would be supplied so the tree only needs to be tended too twice a week. Jill will contact a member of the Civic Assoc. to see if they are willing to do this. Then the tree will be planted. Frank said he has a tree to donate. Peter Burr (our Fishers Island Member) wrote and asked us when the four Maple trees would be planted. Dave is working with Jeff from DPW to get the trees over. The Fishers Island Highway Dept. crew will plant them as per locations that Peter and Dave reviewed. Peter will have to be in charge of getting them watered. Dave will contact Peter to update him. Jill brought up that it is the time of year that the Town Board renews all committees. This year Supervisor Russell request that the committees review their mission statements and give the Town Board their goals and objectives for 2015. Dave and Jill will work on this and get it to the Town Board.
