Dear Sir;
We are in receipt of a letter from the Highway Dept. to Rand -Mac Murray
Inc. in regard to the torque converter in your Pettibone Speedloader,
First, was the Allison transmission people contacted about the problem of
oil leaking? I would like to know more of the details of this machine, the
facts, man involved as he should have cautioned you on the ordering of a
new converter as there are several types of hook up or drive plates connect-
ing to the fly wheel. I also would like to know the serial number of the
machine.
Thank you

In regard to the 1964 Pettibono-Rulliken purchased from you, the first
+ ids paddle shaft was welded wrong,
W -e it was useti, the bearing that ho
causing the machine to Leat upg so operations had to sl:op. After
several months, a Factory representative arrived, and after checking
advised this be corractued by a loo.1 Welder, which was done-,, but 14r. Price,
former 6uperintexident of Highways, did not use the machine again*
In the spring of this yoar, Mr. 'Dean, the current Superintendent of High-
ways, tried to have the Loader in use again, but the Torque Converter
leaked oil. Three attempts were made to repair thing with the same results
about one hour use, and the oil literally poured out.
The fourth time the machine was taken apart again, and a Factory repre-
sentative checked and advised a now Converter was needed* Later this was
received, but cid not match up with Uie flywheel. Therafora. the Loader
could not be used from April 5th to the middle of August, when the new
flywheel wab received and installed.
We feel that the original Torque GonvertLr was imperfect from the date
of purchase*
