A duplicate of this permit must be continuously posted during the event. This permit is granted as applied for, based on information supplied in the application. There are several conditions written into the permit. Please be aware that under the State Fire Code, the number of persons occupying the building and/or tent area is limited. The use of a tent will require an application and approvals at least three days before the event, from the Building Department. A Town Building Inspector must inspect the tent, before occupancy, they can be reached at 765-1802 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. This permit does not authorize parking on Suffolk County Right of Way located in front of the property or any lands owned by County of Suffolk, Town of Southold or Peconic Land Trust. All parking and traffic controls are the responsibilities of the event operators, and their agents. Note that parking on any County or State Roads are not authorized under this permit. Any violations of this permit can be cause for revocation. Traffic Control Plan Events for three hundred (300) or more people also require submission and approval ofa traffic control plan, acceptable to the Town of Southold, AND a qualified traffic controller must be provided. I would have done it sooner but I had some medical issues that required hospitalization. This is the fifth year doing the North Shore Bike Tour in your town and I never needed this permit before. I was not told when I got my road use permits of this. I only found out by the town clerks office when I applied for my tent permit. Thank you for your consideration. Last year was an incredible success with 400 riders participating! Come join us and raise awareness for Organ donation & transplantation on a beautiful ride down the scenic north fork of Long Island out to Orient point! Cyclists of all levels of experience are encouraged to ride with us and help our efforts to raise awareness for organ donation! Course: Riders will enjoy a 35 mile (or 17.5 mile) out and back trip starting from Ospreys Dominion Vineyard to Orient point and back! There are at least 10 volunteers, directed by one who is a retired parking attendant at Shea Stadium. All these people have parked the cars for our event for the last four years of this event successfully without incident. There are two people at the entrance directing the cars to the grassy parking area on the front lawn where two other people direct the cars to row on row parking. Once this area is filled the cars are directed to the back area of the venue where there are three more people directing them. Once this area is filled the front entrance people are notified to then send the overflow to the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, which has given us permission to use their parking. Rich Vandenburgh the proprietor has issued this to us with all necessary insurance. If this parking should fill we have obtained the permission of the town to use the Peconic Lane Community Center parking lot. All insurance requirements for the town have been satisfied. All events must be sponsored by a not-for-profit organization or recognized charity and the applicant must verify that all proceeds generated by the event are wholly for the benefit of said organization or recognized charity. 2. Events that require the closing of a road shall not be held on a holiday or at the same time or location of previously approved community or special events absent authorization from the Chief or Captain of the Police Department. 3. All bicycle or motorcycle events shall be limited to 600 participants. 4. Applicants may only receive approval for one event in each calendar year. 5. The prior issuance of an approval does not bind the Town Board to approve the same or a similar event in the future. All special event approvals shall be subject to compliance with the following conditions: 1. No permanent markings be placed on Town, County or State roads or property for the event; and 6. Any road markings or signs for the event be removed within twenty-four (24) hours of the completion of the event.
