LOCAL WATERFRONT REVITALIZATION PROGRAM
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
MEMORANDUM
To: John Bredemeyer, President
Town of Southold Board of Trustees
From: Mark Terry, Principal Planner
LWRP Coordinator
. Date: April 19, 2014
Re: Proposed Wetland Permit for CHARLES STABILE
SCTM# 1000-119-1-10
Suffolk Environmental Consulting on behalf of CHARLES STABILE requests an Amendment to
Wetland Permit#8027 for the as-built +/-3' high by +/-63' long wood retaining wall located within the
northeastern section of the property. Located: 9976 Nassau Point Road, Cutchogue. SCTM# 119-
1-10
It is my recommendation that the proposed actions to permit an "as built" +/4 high by +/-63' long
wood retaining wall is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 6, specifically 6.3 (below) and therefore,
INCONSISTENT with the LWRP.
6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands.
A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of Trustees
laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their jurisdiction.
1. Comply with Trustee regulations and recommendations as set forth in Trustee permit conditions.
The as-built wood retaining wall was built without the benefit of Board of Trustee review and a
Chapter 275 Wetlands Permit.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its
written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
