Main Rd. &Youngs Ave.) G Q Southold, NY 11971 :r-h Telephone: 631 765-1938 Fax: 631765-3136 LOCAL WATERFRONT REVITALIZATION PROGRAM TOWN OF SOUTHOLD MEMORANDUM To: John Bredemeyer, President Town of Southold Board of Trustees From: Mark Terry, Principal Planner LWRP Coordinator Date: January 21, 2014 Re: Proposed Wetland Permit for THOMAS J.APREA SCTM# 1000-37-7-9.1 THOMAS J.APREA requests an Amendment to Wetland Permit#8085 and Coastal Erosion Permit#8085C to place approximately 300 feet of barrier cloth and approximately 1' in diameter rocks in front of and on top of existing bulkhead; for the as-built cap-stones on top of existing redi-rock seawall; seawall is 54"above wooden bulkhead to top of cap-stone; for the existing accent lighting along seaward side of bulkhead; install aluminum stairs to beach; and for the as-built+/-2,000 cubic yards of fill landward of seawall. Located: 500 Beach Court, East Marion. SCTM#37-7-9.1 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268,Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided the Board considers the following: To further advance the Town of Southold's LWRP policy standards, the following is recommended. 1. All operations(activities)associated with the proposed dredging project should occur outside of shorebird; breeding, nesting and fledging period (March 15th through August 1st). 2. Maintain the existing shoreline slopes where dredge material will be deposited to promote the use of the shoreline area by nesting shorebirds and other shore dependent species. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
