The Police Department maintains a 5,000 gallon capacity tank at the Police Headquarters at Peconic, New York, and uses approx- imately 55,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline annually. The Highway Department maintains a 5,000 gallon tank for regular gasoline and a 2,000 gallon tank for unleaded gasoline. All tanks are located at the Highway Department premises at Peconic Lane, Peconic, New York. The Highway Department uses approximately 30,000 gallons of regular gasoline annually, and approximately 2,200 gallons of unleaded gasoline annually. In submitting bids, the bidder may either submit a fixed price per gallon to be charged throughout the term of the contract, or a price which is based on a rack price at the bidder's source of supply. If a rack price is used, the lowest rack price within five (5) days of each delivery to the Town must be used. Verifica- tion of the rack price used by the bidder must be supplyed by the bidder to the Town upon request. The successful bidder will be required to make deliveries to the Town within eight (8) hours of a request for a delivery from any Town Official, and such bidder will be required to make deliveries on any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays., The successful bidder must make deliveries in such quantities of 250 gallons or more, as may be required. Bid prices are not to include any taxes from which the Town of Southold is exempt. In light of the fact that there were no bidders for the gasoline contract, we would be pleased to continue service for these products for the coming year.
