MEETING # 101
January 21, 2015
Present:
Dan Sarnowski, Fred Andrews, Beth Motschenbacher, LeRoy Heyliger, Michael
Excused:
Herbert, William Dougherty and Phillip Beltz. Jeanne Kelley, Eric Dantes, Rona Smith,
John Vahey and Councilman Jim Dinizio. Meeting began at 5:35 p.m.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of December 10th were approved.
North Fork Cottages Update:
The Planning Board is reviewing a modified concept
submitted by Mr. Pawlowski with less units on the site.
First-Time Homebuyer CPF Exemption:
Two exemptions were approved for January.

Habitat for Humanity:
Wall-raising scheduled Friday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m.at Orient site.
Incentives/Tax Credits for Developing Affordable Apartments:
Brian Murphy, counsel
to Senator Ken Lavalle, telephoned Phillip, he will research this in the new year.
Potential Housing Unit via Inclusionary Zoning:
No report.
Frank Scarola Proposed Condominium Units in Southold:
Mr. Scarola has expressed
concern with the Town’s residency requirements (priority population) as he has been
informed by counsel that he could be subject to lawsuit for violating Fair Housing laws.
There is a meeting scheduled to further discuss, this could have implications for all of the
Town’s affordable housing initiatives.
Public Education Forum-“What is Affordable Housing”:
Dan presented revised
content. Beth will develop survey for residents of the Cottages. Forum content will be
finalized at the February meeting, Phillip will ask Heather to attend and provide
PowerPoint slide regarding affordable/high density housing throughout Town to include in
presentation. Dan and Beth will discuss at Town Board work session on Tuesday,

February 24. Public forum will be Weds. March 11 at 6 p.m. at Peconic Lane Com. Ctr.
