SPECIF.roTIONS FOR: INTENT �i�Cjf�rttu �eprtrtmrnt J10full of 'Southolb llsrouir, Y. 1i. 11,958 Tet. 765-3140 USED SELF PROPELLED 10 TO 14 TON TANDEM STEEL WHEEL ROLLER It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a used sel propelled, diesel powered, hydrostatic driven, tandem steel wheel rolle Roller described herein shall have a minimum unballasted static weight of ten (10) tons and shall have a maximum weights of fourteen (14) tons when fully ballasted. ENGINE Roller shall be equipped with a six cylinder, naturally aspirated, wate cooled diesel engine. Engine shall be capable of producing not less tl; 96 horsepower at rated R.P.M. and shall have a minimum cubic inch dis- placement of not less than 282. The following minimum capacities shall apply: Fuel ........ 25 Gallon Cooling System .......... 73� Gallon DRIVE Roller shall be equipped with a hydrostatic type drive system consistin a variable displacement hydraulic pump coupled to a hydraulic motor by high pressure hydraulic hoses. Hydraulic pump shall be mounted direct" to output shaft of engine. Hydraulic motor shall be connected to drive roll by gears. Roller speed shall be infinite from 0 to 6 MPH -ind cape of staying constant on grades. Changes in speed or direction sliall be capable while roller is moving. Hydraulic system shall also include ft with indicator gauge. Final drive shall be double reduction, spur gear type at left side of machine permitting unobstructed visibility of close -to -curb work. All, gears shall be shielded to exclude dirt and abrasives. Roller shall be provided with dynamic braking through the hydrostatic driving system and friction braking through an expanding shoe type syc., located between drive motor and final drive gears. STEERING Roller shall be equipped with full hydraulic type steering system with single lever control at both left and right sides of machine. FIZAME AND ENCLOSURES Roller main frame shall be of all welded construction made of heavy str tural and plate members rigidly cross braced. All working parts shall. fully enclosed and protected from weather and dust. All points requiri regular servicing shall he accessible through large, hinged lockable doors and ventillating grilles.
