USED SELF PROPELLED 10 TO 14 TON TANDEM
STEEL WHEEL ROLLER
It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a used sel
propelled, diesel powered, hydrostatic driven, tandem steel wheel rolle
Roller described herein shall have a minimum unballasted static weight
of ten (10) tons and shall have a maximum weights of fourteen (14) tons
when fully ballasted.
ENGINE
Roller shall be equipped with a six cylinder, naturally aspirated, wate
cooled diesel engine. Engine shall be capable of producing not less tl;
96 horsepower at rated R.P.M. and shall have a minimum cubic inch dis-
placement of not less than 282. The following minimum capacities shall
apply:
Fuel ........ 25 Gallon
Cooling System .......... 73� Gallon
DRIVE
Roller shall be equipped with a hydrostatic type drive system consistin
a variable displacement hydraulic pump coupled to a hydraulic motor by
high pressure hydraulic hoses. Hydraulic pump shall be mounted direct"
to output shaft of engine. Hydraulic motor shall be connected to drive
roll by gears. Roller speed shall be infinite from 0 to 6 MPH -ind cape
of staying constant on grades. Changes in speed or direction sliall be
capable while roller is moving. Hydraulic system shall also include ft
with indicator gauge.
Final drive shall be double reduction, spur gear type at left side of
machine permitting unobstructed visibility of close -to -curb work. All,
gears shall be shielded to exclude dirt and abrasives.
Roller shall be provided with dynamic braking through the hydrostatic
driving system and friction braking through an expanding shoe type syc.,
located between drive motor and final drive gears.
STEERING
Roller shall be equipped with full hydraulic type steering system with
single lever control at both left and right sides of machine.
FIZAME AND ENCLOSURES
Roller main frame shall be of all welded construction made of heavy str
tural and plate members rigidly cross braced. All working parts shall.
fully enclosed and protected from weather and dust. All points requiri
regular servicing shall he accessible through large, hinged lockable
doors and ventillating grilles. A solid metal shield shall protect ene
and radiator from dust.

Roller shall be equipped with a 12 volt electrical system including:
Electric starter, alternator, HCI No. 8D battery, voltmeter, oil pressure
gauge, engine temperature gauge and key start switch.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Roller shall be equipped with the following additional equipment: Full
width adjustable, spring loaded scraper base and coco mats on both front
and rear rolls, pressurized water system with 160 gallon tank operating
on both front and rear drums, height adjustable operator's seat with post
sockets at both left and right sides of roller and lockable side doors.

this office for our records. In the future, if the vendor is a corporation,
please have the corporation seal affixed before submitting for the Commis-

for supplying the Town with Four (4) replacement tires for the
Fiat -Allis, Model 745C Payloader located at the Southold Town
Landfill area, as per specifications, at a cost of $13,740.00.
Four (4) 23.5X25 20 P.R. Goodyear L3 Tires, Four (4) 23.5X25
Polyurethane Filled, Four (4) Remove filled tires from wheels,
Four (4) Mount and install on machine.

RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby
authorizes payment of $24,488.00 from the Fishers Island Sewer
District Account to Henry Souther Engineering, Inc. for engineering
work accomplished through December 8, 1981 in connection with
Fishers Island Facilities Plan (Step I), and be it further
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby
authorizes payment from the Fishers Island Sewer District Account
to Fishers Island Development Co. in the amount of $2,836.00
representing reimbursement of prior payments made by F.I.D.C.O.
in excess of the local share of the project.

INTENT

It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a used self
propelled, diesel powered, hydrostatic driven, tandem steel wheel. roller.
Roller described herein shall have a minimum unballasted static weight
of ten (10) tons and shall have a maximum weights of fourteen (14) tons
when fully ballasted.

to output shaft of engine. hydraulic motor shall be connected to drive
roll by gears. Roller speed shall be infinite from 0 to 6 MPH and capable
of staying constant on grades. Changes in speed or direction shall be
capable while roller is moving. hydraulic system shall also include filte
with indicator gauge.
Final drive shall be double reduction, spur gear type at left side of
machine permitting unobstructed visibility of close -to -curb work. All
clears shall be shielded to exclude dirt and abrasives.
BRAKES
Roller shall be provided with dynamic braking through the hydrostatic
driving system and friction braking through an expanding shoe type system
located between drive motor and final. drive gears.

Roller shall be equipped with full hydraulic type steering system with
single .laver control at both left and right sides of machine.
FRAME AND ENCLOSURES
Roller main frame shall be of all welded construction made of heavy struc-
ural and plate members rigidly cross braced. All working parts shall be
fully enclosed and protected from weather and dust. All points requiring
regular servicing shall he accessihle through large, hinged lockable
doors and ventillating grilles. A solid metal shield shall protect engine
and radiator from dust.
