Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this one-story wood framed
building. I was admitted to building by Mary Speed and began
this inspection at approximately 12:05 P.M.
The building has two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a room with
living and kitchen facilities, and an entry vestibule that con-
tains a gas fired hot water heater and electric water pump for
domestic water. Heat is furnished to building from a gas fired
free standing space heater located at north end of living room.
Building is constructed on piers and is skirted. Total square
foot area of building is 440 square feet. The minimum required
for a one-family living unit is 850, violation of Chapter 100,
Zoning Code of the Town of Southold, Section 100-31, Bulk area.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, New York, were found:
Vestibule - enclosure structural members laying on soil,
no foundation, dirt floor covered with plywood, Article III,
Section 52-30 C.
Cookin9 range - gas, no shut off valve at unit, Article V,
Section 52-52 B 2.
Bathroom - floor covering deteriorating at base of toilet
an-~d--~-~ tub, Article III, Section 52-32 D.
Lamp cord - outlets in northwest bedroom and living room
on baseboard, Article V, Section 52-56 A 1.
Inspection completed at appro~ately 12~0 P.M.

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electricel installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pm-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey o~ property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
