Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this one and one half
story framed dwelling. I admitted myself to the front
door entrance on the west end of the building which was unlocked
and began this inspection at approximately 11:15 A.M. The east
section of building was locked, no keys were available for
entry per inquiry made at the office of Richard Cron, Cutchogue,
New York.
The west section of first floor consists of kitchen and
pantry, dining room and front entrance hallway containing
stairway to second floor.
Second floor,
(headroom six feet seven inches violates
Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 100, Sec. 100-13
Floor area livable.) - consists of four
rooms with a walk-in closet. ;~ ~m~l ~
The following violations of The Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, were found:
Kitchen -
Gas cooking range, no shut-off valve at unit,
Article V, Sec. 52-52 B.2 -- domestic water,
only one water line and faucet supplied to
fixture; appears cold water, no hot water
heater, in this section of building, Article V,
Section 52-51 D.1. Outside entrance, no means
of controlling light in room on entry, Article
V, Section 52-56 B.2.
Dining Room-
Outside entrance, no means of controlling light
in room on entry, Article V, Section 52-56 B.2.
No steps provided at exit exterior (Article II,
Section 52-58 B.). Windows, four broken panes
of glass, Article III, Sec. 52-31 B.
Hallway -
front entrance, no steps provided at exit exterior
Article II, Section 52-28B. (door from hallway
to east section of build ing locked from inside
of room.)

Partial full under dining room, contains
water pump and electric service box.

South corner of east end, deformation of structure from
deterioration and settlement of foundation.

Front entrance to hallway, sill on foundation exposed to
elements and has rotted away. Article III,

Roof - wood shingles missing, several openings. Article

Exterior walls and components, window frames and doorways,
trim and siding deteriorating. Article III, Sec. 52-31 A.B.
Accessory structure in rear yard, deteriorating. Article
VI, Sec. 52-62 B. Accumulation of refuse and rubbish
in open doorway of structure. Article VI, Sec. 52-61 D.

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of ail buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00
2. Certificate of occupancy on pre-existing dwelling or land use $5.00
