The prices herein should not include any excise taxes and/or sales taxes imposed by any state or municipal government. B. The bidder hereby proposes to furnish all the necessary uniforms clothes, linings,buttons,braids and all other materials and labor to complete the uniform requirements at and for the price named, according to the specifications that are contained herein and as required by the Town of .1"rctthold ',,New York. C. All bids will be submitted as per "Uni.t Price" ,per shirt,trousers etc. D. All garmets shall be tailored to each individual to insure proper fit. The necessary measurements and fittings as required are' to be made at a time and place as designated by the Chief of Police. E. Any and all necessary adjustments and alterations shall be made within one week as not to inconvenience the Town of Southold Police Department. F. Delivery of all items shall be made within 30 Days after receipt of the measurements. — G. The finished garment shall be clean,well made and tailored,pressed and be free of any defect which may affect appearence or serviceability. H. The contractor shall throughly inspect the finished garmet, etc. for compliance with The Town of Southold specifications prior to inspection by the Chief of Police and prior to delivery to the Town of Southold Police Department for final inspection. I . All materials and workmanship contracted for and ordered under this bid will be subject to acceptance or rejection by the Town of Southold after inspection and/or tests to determine whether or not the materials and work performed by the contractor meet the requirements set forth in the invitation and specifications. J. The Town of Southold will furnish an official emblem to be sewn on the left shoulder of each winter shirt, summer shirt,blouses,jackets etc. Rank insignia,when required, will be furnished and sewn on by the sucess- ful bidder. K. Delivery will be a major factor as consideration in award of this bid. H. Failure of the contractor to supply uniforms as stated within the conditions herein shall result in procurement of items from another source with the additional monies incurred by the Town of Southold charged back to the cont- ractor. M. Primary consideration to awards will be given to bidders ability to complete all orders within specified time periods. Vendors are cautioned to note the conditions herein and their ability to fulfill this contract. N. Period of contract: Will commence with date of signing of contract for a period of one (1 ) year to be extended by mutual agreement. V A. Failure to submit samples of all items with bid proposal shall be cause for rejection, (3) GENERAL TRIM INSTRUCTIONS GENERAL The following emblems, braid, insignia, chevrons, etc. , shall be attached to all uniform coats, shirts and trousers as indicated. They shall conform in style and quality as described in detailed specifications or be equal in all respects to those in use. They shall be furnished at the bidder's expense except for embroidered Departmental Shoulder Emblem, which will be furnished by the Police Department. CHEVRONS LIEUTENANT-shall wear on the prescribed uniform the prescribed band of lustrous black mohair braid, 1 inch wide, placed with its lower edge 32" above the bottom sleeve and on outside seam of trousers from cuff to waistband ligne 4. SERGEANT-- shall wear on each sleeve six (6) inches below the shoulder seam a three (3) stripe prescribed chevron on both sleeves to be in line with the center lower part of the Departmental insignia. On the trousers on the outside vertical seam, a black mohair braid, 3/8" wide from cuff to waistband ligne 4. POLICE OFFICER trousers to have a black soutache cord on the vertical seam from cuffs to bottom of pocket 12 ligne. SPECIFICATIONS JACKET---SPRING-FALL STYLE: Waist length (Ike) with zipper front and epaulettes COLOR: Navy blue FABRIC: 100% Oxford nylon with taffeta lining; elasticized waistband; gilt NYS buttons. Miliken 4911-2861. DESIGN: Trousers shall be manufactured from up-to-date patterns and shall be designed so there will be no "peg" at the hip or baggy seat. The length of the trousers shall have a modified flare. The front shall be plain, no pleats, with two side pockets, two hip pockets, one watch pocket, and two club pockets. The club pockets are 32" below each hip pocket, 114" from side seams. The width of the club pockets is 32", depth 812". The left hip pocket shall have a tab to button. The front pocket shall have a minimum opening of 62" and shall be 6" deep from the bottom of the opening. They shall be stitched, turned and topstitched. The hip pockets shall have an opening of approximately 6" from bartack to bartack and shall be 6" deep. Hip pockets will be of the double welt method manufactured on Reese P.W. machine and shall be finished in such a manner that there is no top stitching. The welts shall be interlined with pellon. Re- inforced stitching will be placed on side, hip, and club pockets. POCKETING: Pocketing shall be 50% Polyester, 50% Cotton blend with a minimum of 2.70 weight and a minimum of 70 x 60 count. Color shall be black. No other color pocketing will be acceptable. WAISTBAND: The trousers shall have a waistband 2" wide attached to the trousers. The belt loops must be rocapped into the top of the waistband between the waistband curtain and the waistband itself, and the bottom of the belt loops shall be sewn into the waistband seam. Drop loops will not be acceptable. The waistband curtain shall be of the same black material as the pocketing and will include Snug-Tex. The front of the trousers shall close with metal hook and eye. Trousers also include Ban-Rol in waistband. FLY LINING: The right fly shall be the same fabric and color as the waistband and pocketing. The right fly lining must be sewn to the left fly below the zipper with strong closure and- smart-appearance. There shall be a French fly cl.osure.on_the_inside of the_ right_fly and the fabric for the French fly must be the same as the outer material of the trousers. BELT LOOPS: There shall be a minimum of 7 belt loops, all loops to be 2" wide cut straight. All loops except for the center loop must be sewn to the bottom of the waistband and the top of all loops shall be caught into the waistband curtain seam. The waistbend shall measure approximately 2" wide when finished--wide enough to accommodate a belt 1 5/8" wide. MISC: Trousers must have a Talon #42 memory lock zipper and there shall be a bartack at the bottom of the fly going through the zipper tape. The trousers must be seamed with matching thread and the seat seam must be stitched with a tandem needle machine (2 threads) . All exposed inside edges must be serged.
