Pete Doherty went out to the subject property on 7/25/14 and observed a real estate sign and dumpster on the property which indicates homeowner is probably moving. Pete also observed no tables in the front yard, nor were there any signs advertising a yard sale in the immediate vicinity posted. Please forward any future complaints via the newly created Inter- Departmental Complaint procedure. Thank you. Referred to Stephen Kiely,ATA 7 - 2Y—/ Town Code states two (2)yard sales allowed per calendar year. It does not it does not state the number of days each yard sale can cover. If they come in for a permit for this week-end, I would have to issue it. I will make them aware of the conditions. On another note, I had the neighbors of 415 Willow Drive,Greenport call me again. They want to know if he was issued a summons, if so what was the fine. If he was not issued a summons,they want to know why he was not issued one. He had a three (3)yard sale without a permit. Yard sales,when permitted, are only issued for one(1)day,with a rain date, if it rains. But, it did not rain. Under code,two (2)one day yard sales are allowed per calendar year. I have to call them back and give them a response to their questions. If that's the case and you are accepting input, I would like to see any solicitors have identification from their group prominently displayed on the outer garment,to include a photo of themselves also. I would also like to see all door-to-door canvassing to end one-half hour prior to sunset so we do not get calls from alarmed homeowners when someone is approaching their house and knocking on the doors.
