A resolution outherising the purchase of this equipment was adopted by the Town beard on July 22 119 81
The resolution directed that when this contract has been signed by the Town Superintendent of ways, r or his agent, and
opproved by the County Stmwintendent of Highways, it becomes effective and that upon delivery of the equipment named and its accept-
ance by the Town Superintendent of Highways, the Superviser shall pay for it in the following manner:

It is agreed that the title to sold trade-in equipment mentioned at "(1)" above shall remain in the Town until delivered to the Vendor
at the time mentioned, and further that said equipment may be used by the Town until delivered to the Vendor and at such time it will
then be accepted by the Vendor at the value mentioned providing that it is in as good condition as at present, normal wear, tsar and
usage excepted. (Strike out(1) and this paragraph if not applicable).
The Vendor guarantees the equipment purchased under this contract against defects of workmanship and material for a period of
90 days and that it will be delivered in first class condition at Southold Town Highway Dept. ,

The Vendor hereby ogroes to the provisions of Section 103-a of the General Municipal Low which requires that upon the refusal of
a person, when called before a grand jury to testify concerning any transection or contract had with the state, any political subdivision
thereof, a public authority or with any public department, agency or official of the state or of any political subdivision thereof or of a
public authority, to sign a waiver of Immunity against subsequent criminal prosecution -2r to answer any relevant question concerning
such transaction or contract,
(a) such person, and any firm, partnership or corporation of which he is a member, partner, director or officer shall be disnualified
from thereafter selling to or submitting bids to or receiving awards from or entering into any contracts with any municipo corpor-
ation or any public department, agency or official theroof, for goods, work or services, for a period of five years after such
refusal, and
(b) any and all contracts made with any municipal corporation or any public department, agency or official thereof, since the offec-
tive date of this low, by such person, and bx any firm, partnership, or corporation of which he is a member, partner, director
or officer may be cancelled or terminated by the municipal corporation without Incurring any penolty or damages on account of
such cancellation or termination, but any monies owing by the municipal corporation for goods delivered or work done prior to
the cancellation or termination shall be, paid.
The Vendor hereby agrees not to assign this contract, or his right therein, to any other person or corporation without the previous
consent, in writing, of the Town Suporintondent of Highways.
The Vendor hereby cartifies that there ore no Federal or State taxes included in the above purchase price and that he is the only
intermediary between the manufacturer and the purchoser.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR: HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED REMOVABLE GOOSENECK TRAILER
It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a hydraulically
operated removable gooseneck trailer, 40 ton capacity, so engineered and built
to carry a fully rated concentrated load over any ten foot length of deck.
GOOSENECK
Trailer to be equipped with removable type hydraulically operated gooseneck.
The gooseneck shall be of ground contact foot pad design. Hydraulic cylinder
will be powered by hydraulic lines from the tractor. When gooseneck is in the
travel position, a lock shall 'be provided to hold this position until manually
released. Hydraulic controls for gooseneck shall be located outside the frame
for safety.
FRAIL
Frame will be of one piece all welded construction. For added strength main
beams will not be pierced or burned for insertion of crossmembers.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Will be heavy duty, tandem axle, and the undercarriage assembly- will consist
of the following:
1. Full width tubular cambered axles on walking beams.
2. Rubber bushings will be used in all oscillating points to isolate shock
loads from axle and frame, eliminate wear, and eliminate necessity of lubrication.
3. Realignment adjustment will be integral part of undercarriage.
4. Stemco (or equal) oil seals will be standard.
DECKIM
Will be 2" in thickness and will run longitudinal. For increased structural
strength, decking will be knot free. Decking will be constructed of Apitong
hardwood or equal. Trailer will be of drop deck design with a slope of not
more than 2:1.

EXTENSION BRACKETS
Trailer shall be equipped with not less than 18 extension brackets, 9 each
side, which are to be evenly spaced and welded to the trailer.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
The following additional equipment will be supplied as factory standard:
Folding front load ramps-hardwood faced and splash guards.
POWER PACK
To be no less than 16 HP air-cooled engine with electric start. Tobe unitized
module isolated from gooseneck frame by heavy rubber isolators to protect
power pack from road vibrations.
PAINT
Trailer shall be painted highway yellow.
TRUCK FIFTH WHEEL
Distributor shall provide a Holland Model 2000 or equal fifth (5th) wheel to
have a drawbar pull of not less than 150,000{ and be capable of staking a
44,000 # vertical load. The fifth wheel shall be 3611, cast steel and shall be
angle iron mounted to chassis or truck frame at dimensions compatible with
the trailer being bid.
AWARD
Equipment being bid must be of current manufacturer's 1981 production and
must be factory new.
Vendor must have full service facility
Vendor must be manufacturer's representative for model equipment being bid.
Vendor must stock a full inventory of parts for the equipment being bid.
Vendor must be capable of servicing equipment in the field.
Vendor must have a full library of parts and service manuals.

The sealed bids, together with a non-collusive certificate
will be received by the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold at the
Southold Town Hall, Main Road, Southold , New York until 3: 00 P.M . ,
July 16, 1981, at which time they will be onened and react aloud in
public. The Town Board of the Town of Southold reserves the right
to reject any and all bids and waive any and all. informality in
any bid, should it be deemed to be in the best interest of the Totem
of Southold to do so.
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked,
."Bid on One (1 ) New 1981 Hydraulically Operated Removal Gooseneck
Trailer" and submitted to the Office of the Southold Town Clerk.
The bid price shall not include any tax, federal , state or
local, from which the Town of Southold is exempt .

SPECIFICATIONS FOR: HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED REMOVABILE GOOSFPIECK TRAILER
It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a hydraulically
operated removable gooseneck trailer, 40 ton capacity, so engineered and built
to carry a fully rated concentrated Load over any ten foot length of deck.
GOOSENECK
Trailer to be equipped with removable type hydraulically operated gooseneck.
The gooseneck shall be of ground contact foot pad design. Hydraulic cylinder
will be powered by hydraulic lines from the tractor. When gooseneck is in the
travel position, a lock shall be provided to hold this position until manually
released. Hydraulic controls for gooseneck shall be located outside the frame
for safety.
FRAME
Frame will be of one piece all welded construction. For added strength main
beams will not be pierced or burned for insertion of crossmembers.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Will be heavy duty, tandem axle, and the undercarriage assembly vrill consist
of the following:
1. Full width tubular cambered axles on walking beams.
2. Rubber bushings will be used in all oscillating points to isolate shock
loads from axle and frame, eliminate wear, and eliminate necessity of lubrication.
3. Realignment adjustment will be integral part of undercarriage.
4. Stemco (or equal) oil seals will be standard.
DECKING
Will be 2" in thickness and will run longitudinal. For increased structural
strength, decking will be knot free. Decking will be constructed of Apite: g
hardwood or equal. Trailer *ill be of drop deck design with a slope of not
more than 2:1.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Wiring fixtures and lamps must comply with all applicable ICC and DOT regula-
tions. Electrical equipment shall be 12 volt.

side, which are to be evenly spaced and welded to the trailer.

POWER PACK
To be no less than 16 HP air-cooled engine with electric start. Tobe unitized
module isolated from gooseneck frame by heavy rubber isolators to protect

Trailer shall be painted highway yellow.
TRUCK FIFTH WHEEL
Distributor shall provide a Holland Model 2000 or equal fifth (5th) wvieel to
have a drawbar pull of not less than 150,004 and be capable of taking a
44,000 # vertical load. The fifth wheel shall be 3611, cast steel and shall be
angle iron mounted to chassis or truck frame at dimensions compatible with
the trailer being bid.

Equipment being bid must be of current manufacturer's 1981 production and

provided with emergency relay valve.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Wiring fixtures and lamps must comply with all applicable ICC and DOT regula-
tions. Electrical equipment shall be 12 volt.

EXTENSION BRACKETS
Trailer shall be equipped with not less than 18 extension brackets, 9 each
side, which are to be evenly spaced and welded to the trailer.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
The following additional equipment will be supplied as factory standard:
Folding front load ramps-hardwood faced and splash guards.
POWER PACK
To be no less than 16 HP air-cooled engine with electric start. To be unitized
module isolated from gooseneck frame by heavy rubber isolators to protect
power pack from road vibrations.
PAINT
Trailer shall be painted highway yellow.
TRUCK FIFTH WHEEL
Distributor shall provide a Holland Model 2000 or equal fifth (5th) wheel to
have a drawbar pull of not less than 150,000# and be capable of taking a
`40,000 # vertical load. The fifth wheel shall be 3611, cast steel and shall be
angle iron mounted to chassis or truck frame at dimensions compatible with
the trailer being bid.
AWARD
Equipment being bid must be of current manufacturer's 1981 production and
must be factory new.
Vendor must have full service facility
Vendor must be manufacturer's representative for model equipment being bid.
Vendor must stock a full inventory of parts for the equipment being bid.
Vendor must be capable of servicing equipment in the field.
Vendor must have a full library of parts and service manuals.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR: HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED REMOVABLE GOOSENECK TRAILER
It is the intent of the following specifications to describe a hydraulically
operated removable gooseneck trailer, 40 ton capacity, so engineered and built
to carry a fully rated concentrated load over any ten foot length of deck.
GOOSENECK
Trailer to be equipped with removable type hydraulically operated gooseneck.
The gooseneck shall be of ground contact foot pad design. Hydraulic cylinder
will be powered by hydraulic lines from the tractor. When gooseneck is in the
travel position, a lock shall be provided to hold this position until manually
released. Hydraulic controls for gooseneck shall be located outside the frame
for safety.
FRANC
Frame will be of one piece all welded construction. For added strength main
beams will not be pierced or burned for insertion of crossmembers.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Will be heavy duty, tandem axle, and the undercarriage assembly will consist
of the following:
1. Full width tubular cambered axles on walking beams.
2. Rubber bushings will be used in all oscillating points to isolate shock
loads from axle and frame, eliminate wear, and eliminate necessity of lubrication.
3. Realignment adjustment will be integral part of undercarriage.
4. Stemco (or equal) oil seals will be standard.
DECKING
Will be 2" in thickness and will run longitudinal. For increased structural
strength, decking will be knot free. Decking will be constructed of Apitong
hardwood or equal. Trailer will be of drop deck design with a slope of not
more than 2:1.
