Dear Sir:
Agway Petroleum Corporation is pleased to submit the following bids
to meet your gasoline requirements for the 1981 calendar year.
Terms set forth in your "Specifications for Purchase of Gasoline by
the Town of Southold, " dated December 8, 1980, are hereby accepted.
REGULAR GASOLINE:
Regular gasoline will be delivered into your 5,000 gallon tank at
the Highway Department premises at our posted delivery price at the
time of delivery, minus five cents ($ .05) . Today' s price would be
$1.008 per gallon.
UNLEADED GASOLINE:
Unleaded gasoline will be delivered into your 5,000 gallon tank at
the Police Headquarters and into your 2,000 gallon tank at the High-
way Department premises at our posted delivery price at the time of
delivery, minus six cents ($ .06) . Today' s price would be $1.058 per
gallon.
In addition to the above services, Agway Petroleum stands ready to
serve your other needs throughout the year. Diesel fuel, kerosene,
bulk and packaged motor oils, greases, bulk and packaged anti-freeze,
pumps, tanks, and accessories can all be supplied promptly and effi-
ciently from our Riverhead plant or from our East Marion distribution
site. Energy services and installations are available from our trained
staff of skilled Service Technicians.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF
GASOLINE BY THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
Under these specifications, the Town of Southold seeks bids for the purchase
of all of its gasoline requirements for the 1981 calendar year for its Police
Department and Highway Department.
The Police Department maintains a 5, 000 gallon capacity tank at the Police
Headquarters at Peconic, New York, and uses approximately 55, 000 gallons of
unleaded gasoline annually.
The Highway Department maintains a 5, 000 gallon tank for regular gasoline
and a 2, 000 gallon tank for unleaded gasoline. All tanks are located at the
Highway Department premises at Peconic Lane, Peconic, New York. The Highway
Department uses approximately 30, 000 gallons of regular gasoline annually, and
approximately 2, 200 gallons of unleaded gasoline annually.
In submitting bids, the bidder may either submit a fixed price per gallon to
be charged throughout the term of the contract, or a price which is based upon
a rack price at the bidder's source of supply. If a rack price is used, the
lowest rack price within five (5) days of each delivery to the Town must be used.
Verification of the rack price used by the bidder must be supplied by the bidder
to the Town upon request.
The successful bidder will be required to make deliveries to the Town
within eight (8) hours of a request for a delivery from any Town Official, and such
bidder will be required to make deliveries on any day of the week, including
•
Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. The successful bidder must make deliveries in
such quantities of 250 gallons or more, as may be requested.
Bid prices are not to include any taxes from which the Town of Southold
is exempt.
The Town of Southold reserves the right to reject any and all bids if it is
deemed in the best interest of the Town of Southold.
Bids must be submitted in duplicate enclosed in sealed envelopes and
addressed to the Superintendent of Highways, Town of Southold, Peconic Lane,
Southold, New York and have plainly marked on the outside of the envelope
"Gasoline Bid". )
