Box 566 East Marion, NY 11939 RE: ORIENT-EAST MARION PARK DISTRICT 17805 ROUTE 25, EAST MARION SCTM#: 1000-17-5-3.3 Dear Mr. Strohmeyer: The Southold Town Board of Trustees reviewed the plan prepared by Orient-East Marion Park District received on August 28, 2015, and determined thatthe existing seasonal "L" shaped screening enclosure made of latticework wood around the seasonal porta-potties, and the installation of two signs approximately 8' in, off the shoulder along the private road that runs alongside the seawall; are out of the Wetland jurisdiction under Chapter 275 of the Town Wetland Code and Chapter 111 of the Town Code. Therefore, in accordance with the current Wetlands Code (Chapter 275) and the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area (Chapter 111) no permit is required. Please be advised, however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place seaward of the tidal and/or freshwater wetlands jurisdictional boundary or seaward of the coastal erosion hazard area as indicated above, or within 100' landward from the top of the bluff, without further authorization from the Southold Town Board of Trustees pursuant to Chapter 275 and/or Chapter 111 of the Town Code. It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wetland 2 jurisdictional boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area and your project or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm. This determination is not a determination from any other agency. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, John M. Bredemeyer III, President The Orient East Marion Park District respectfully submits a request to amend Permit No. 8525A covered by Resolution dated November 19, 2014 to include a 4 foot high split rail fence starting at the north/west corner of the Parking Lot and running 135 feet circa directly towards the Sound but ending short of the Mean High Water Mark The first 20 or so feet would overlap the existing easterly fence of • the State Boat Ramp property. Incidentally, this will include two eight foot high posts topped by English/Spanish signs facing westward which posts will be posotioned circa 35 and 70 feet from the staring point of the fence. South of the two sheds during the season are three Porta-Potties.Surrounding them is an ell- shaped enclosure of latticework high enough to hide the existence of the three Porta-Potties from passersby on the Main Road. The latticework consists of six 4* 8 sheets placed on their sides two high. It is our intention to remove them once the Porta-Pottices are removed. They are seasonal.. Since they are located further than 100 feet from the water, I am unsure that they come under your jurisdiction. However,I thought you should be informed of their seasonable presence. Apropos the eastern fence per the original permit, two signs have been placed.on two of the posts. We would also like the amended Permit to include two signs on the "Private"road that runs alongside the Seawall to the House on the Beach. The first sign would be placed on the right side where the "Private "road joins the Main Road probably 8 feet in off the shoulder and the second sign would also be on the right side where the property of the OEMPD meets the property of the House on the Beach. The items under discussion are marked on two copies of the attached Property Map 017: The start and end of the west fence are marked as a. amd b. The two posts are marked as c. and d. The latticework screen is marked as e. The two signs on the eastern fence are marked as f. and g. The two signs on the Private Road are marked h. and i. We respectfully hope the above meets with your approval.
