LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held
Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

Commencement:
The meeting began at 7:06 p.m. with six LPC members present.

Land Preservation Applications and Inquiries:
SCTM #1000-97.-1-12.7 (CALABRESE)
Status Update
Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator, gave status update on Calabrese offer and her recent
conversations with the landowners who are questioning whether selling easement will reduce their
property taxes. Melissa will continue dialog with landowners.
This project was recently awarded a NYS Agriculture & Markets grant.
SCTM #1000-75.-6-6.1 & 6.2 (LITTLE BEAR REALTY)
Status Update
Randy Parsons (TNC) and Melissa Spiro inspected the subject property located along Richmond
Creek. Current access to the property is through the residential lot with an existing house and
structures. Potential preservation proposal is to exclude lot from preservation..Randy will do further
research regarding potential access. Melissa will schedule a site visit with LPC members.
SCTM #1000-35.-2-1; 11; 12; 17.1 (ISLAND’S END GOLF CLUB & KING TRUST)
Status Update
This project consists of approximately 125 acres with two distinct property owners. A formal
application has been made to LPC from both parties and LPC has started its preliminary review of the
application. Proposed preservation would include a continued use of the public golf course. LPC
would like more details on Island’s End ownership and operation. Melissa will request this information
from the club’s president.

easements were found to be in an acceptable condition and no easement violations were found:

General Land Preservation Items:
REVIEW PROCEDURES FOR POTENTIAL RANKING OF PENDING APPLICATONS
Discussion continued regarding procedures for potential ranking of pending and future applications
submitted to the Land Preservation Committee. Discussions on this matter will continue at next LPC
meeting.
